New Zealand beatmaker Montell2099 has teamed up with Atlanta-based rapper 21 Savage for “Hunnid on the Drop,” available today with Red Bull Sound Select. Montell2099’s warped drum programming and haunted melody sets up 21 Savage (Drake, Future, Meek Mill) to deliver evocative verses that cement his status as one of the most explosive new rappers.

Cosigned by Lorde, Mr. Carmack, Sango and Soulection, Montell2099 is rising as an exciting new electronic artist to emerge out of New Zealand. Premiering on Complex this morning, Montell2099 says of the release, “I’m super excited to share this track with the world. I was approached by Red Bull Sound Select in New Zealand with the idea of a collaboration. I made a list of artists I would like to work with, and 21 Savage was one of the artists. When Red Bull told me he was keen, I went on a beat making spree! Within a couple days I had at least 20 ideas made for him. He chose the 3rd beat I played for him and did his thing in the booth. Within a couple hours the track was done.”
