Moonbase Announces National Tour Dates + Teases Anderson .Paak Collaboration

“Moonbase’s heavy production is laced with swirling, arpeggiated synth lines and gloppy 808 beats, reminiscent of the Neptunes early 2000s takeover.” – Pitchfork

“A front-runner of Sydney’s dark and dirty trap scene, Moonbase Commander has been blurring the lines between hip-hop and dance music.” – Pilerats

“Perfect for late night clubbing, just before you hit that comedown.” – Purple Sneakers

Moonbase (FKA Moonbase Commander) today announces he’ll be bringing his talents to dancefloors around the country, with a national club tour this February and March.

These shows will invade venues in Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne, where Moonbase (real name Nick Luke) will deliver the same jet fuel live sets that have earned him praise as a highlight act on festival line-ups like Splendour In The Grass and Falls Festival.

The tour announcement also precedes news that Moonbase is set to drop a new collaboration with international superstar Anderson .Paak in the coming week – finally releasing what is predicted to be one of the premiere singles of 2017. The song has been swirling through Moonbase’s live sets for a while now, tantalising fans over the potential of the massive track, but without an official release plan… until now.

Moonbase has come a long way since his early days playing weird, underground warehouse parties. His 2015 collaboration with New York emcee Cakes Da Killa was named ‘Best New Music’ by Pitchfork, while Skrillex’s taste-making Nest HQ blog stepped up to premiere both his recent Orthodox EP and last year’s single ‘Southpaw.’

And aside from his solo work, Moonbase has also proven himself to be a great curator of rising talent in his own right. He launched  his own label, Trench Records in 2016, instantly achieving success with the release of fellow producer Tiber’s debut EP, Self Control, and its breakout single ‘Wings’, as well as releasing the first single from new signing Herzeloyde – ‘Sprung’ just this week.

All this success has laid a solid foundation for what is destined to be a huge year for Moonbase. In the meantime, keep your ears peeled for this huge new collaboration that’s set to drop next week.
