Enigmatic Sydney producer Moonbase today continues his return to form with the release of his second EP of the year – COMMANDER I – featuring the grime heavy feature single, ‘SYD 2 LDN.’
Moonbase’s love affair with UK hip hop continues in ‘SYD 2 LDN’ as he teams with respected emcee MAXSTA to produce a track that’s as alert as an air raid siren – the beat-maker continuing to establish himself as one of the trans-continental champions of grime spreading throughout the Commonwealth.

Having only just released the Avalanche EP in May, Moonbase is a man on a mission as he looks to regain the ground he lost in 2018 when he was forced to take a hiatus from music after suffering from a brain tumour. On the COMMANDER I EP he’s back to his electrifying best with a record that sees him unleash his signature, future bass sound while continuing to explore the realms of music and genre within which he can utilise his tools.
Take for instance the haunted carousel ride that is ‘AEROTHEURGE,’ or the ethereal ‘GRATEFUL’ featuring the auto-tuned R’n’B vocal stylings of IE. Then there’s the previously released Moonbase signature single ‘DUMMY.’ Each track is distinctly unique, all the while flowing with the same creative potions that are pure Moonbase and his audio chemistry kit.
As its title suggests, this new EP is one in a back to back series of COMMANDER EPs, with COMMANDER II set to drop later this year, and keep his prolific release schedule ticking over.
