Singles Chartifacts: 

#1: SAINt JHN ‘Roses’ – SAINt Jhn’s ‘Roses’ holds #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart for a sixth week. Last week the single reached double platinum status in Australia.

#3: Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber ‘Stuck With U’ – Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber release the duet ‘Stuck With U’. After four Top Ten singles in 2019 – including the #1 ‘7 Rings’ (Jan. ’19) – it’s Ariana Grande’s first chart entry for 2020. The collaboration is Bieber’s four entry in the Top 50 this year after ‘Yummy’ (#4 Jan. ’20), ‘Intentions’ (#2 Mar. ’20) and ‘Forever’ (#29 Feb. ’20). Proceeds from the single will go to the First Responders Children’s Foundation, which will fund scholarships for children of frontline workers who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

#4: DaBaby Feat. Roddy Ricch ‘Rockstar’ – For the second week in a row DaBaby’s ‘Rockstar’ has jumped up five spots on the chart, this time taking it to #4. As well as in Australia, it’s also been a Top Ten hit in the US, UK, Canada and New Zealand.

#14: 6ix9ine ‘Gooba’ – 6ix9ine releases ‘Gooba’, his first new single since coming out of prison. It becomes the American rapper’s first chart entry since ‘Mama’ (#22 Dec. ’18) and ‘Kika’ (#30 Dec. ’18) charted in the same week. Sentenced to two years in prison in December 2019, 6ix9ine was released and put under house arrest in April due to COVID-19.

#34: Onefour Feat. A$AP Ferg ‘Say It Again’ – Sydney’s Onefour take out their third Top 50 entry with ‘Say It Again’. Featuring American rapper A$AP Ferg, it’s the follow-up single to ‘Welcome to Prison’ (#33 Feb. ’20). The controversial group first charted with ‘In The Beginning’ (#39 Nov. ’19).

Albums Chartifacts:

#1: Drake ‘Dark Lane Demo Tapes’ – For the second straight week, Drake tops the ARIA Albums Chart with the mixtape Dark Lane Demo Tapes. Of the Canadian rapper’s chart-toppers, Scorpion has spent the most weeks at #1, staying there for three weeks in July/August 2018.

#6: Hayley Williams ‘Petals For Armor’ – Paramore singer Hayley Williams releases her debut solo album Petals For Armor. Williams’ first solo activity away from the group other than being a featured artist comes three years on from Paramore’s last album, After Laughter (#3 May ’17). Prior to the release of Petals For Armor, Williams released two EPs featuring tracks from the album. The album tops this week’s ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart.

#7: HP Boyz ‘6 To The World EP’ – Melbourne hip hop group HP Boyz make their first Top 50 appearance with the 6 To The World EP. It’s the trio’s debut EP, coming just over a year on from their formation. They released their debut single ‘Blueprint’ in May 2019, with three more following before the EP.

#17: Kehlani ‘It Was Good Until It Wasn’t’ – American artist Kehlani picks up her highest peak on the Albums Chart with It Was Good Until It Wasn’t. Coming three years on from her debut album, SweetSexySavage (#32 Feb. ’17), it includes collaborations with James Blake and Tory Lanez, among others. Between albums, she released the mixtape While We Wait (#29 Mar. ’19).

#29: Chris Brown & Young Thug ‘Slime & B’ – Chris Brown and Young Thug join forces for the mixtape Slime & B. It becomes Brown’s ninth appearance in the Top 50 and the first since Indigo (#3 Jul. ’19). For Young Thug, it’s his second chart entry after So Much Fun (#36 Sept. ’19).
