Albums Chartifacts:

#1: The Teskey Brothers ‘Live At The Forum’ – Melbourne’s The Teskey Brothers score their first ever #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart as they debut in the top spot with Live At The Forum. Recorded in November 2019 during a four-night run in their hometown at famed venue The Forum, the album includes tracks from both of the band’s first two studio releases – Half Mile Harvest (#18 Jun. ’17) and Run Home Slow (#2 Aug. ’19) – plus a cover of John Lennon’s ‘Jealous Guy’. At the 2019 ARIA Awards, The Teskey Brothers won three categories: Best Group, Best Blues & Roots Album and Engineer of the Year. Live At The Forumalso tops this week’s ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart. Live At The Forum is the first live album by an Australian band to top the ARIA Charts since AC/DC’s Live (#1 Nov. ’92).

Josh Teskey, of the Teskey Brothers, said: “We are completely gobsmacked to reach the number one spot. I guess it just goes to show how much everyone misses attending gigs right now!”

Dan Rosen, CEO of ARIA, says: “Congratulations to The Teskey Brothers, and their entire team, on their first Number One ARIA album with Live At The Forum. They blew the roof off the place at last year’s ARIA Awards, and are one of the best live bands in the country. To see a live album top the ARIA Chart during these restricted times just goes to show how much we all crave the live music experience. As we look to get the live music industry back on its feet, we cannot wait to see Aussie bands like The Teskey Brothers return to venues and festival stages around the country.”

Live At The Forum is the seventh Australian #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart in 2020.

#10: Polo G ‘The Goat’ – Releasing second studio album, The Goat, Chicago rapper Polo G makes his Top 50 debut. The album has been released less than a year after Polo G released his debut album, Die A Legend, in June of last year. His debut peaked at #6 in the US.

#15: Future ‘High Off Life’ – American rapper Future scores a new solo Albums Chart peak with High Off Life. It’s his eighth studio album, coming just over a year on from Future Hndrxx Presents: The WIZRD (#33 Jan. ’19). High Off Lifefeatures the collaboration with Drake, ‘Life Is Good’ (#11 Jan. ’20), as well as guest spots by Travis Scott, DaBaby and Lil Uzi Vert among others. Future scored his highest career peak with the mixtape he released with Drake, What A Time To Be Alive (#4 Sept. ’15).

#19: Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit ‘Reunions’ – Singer-songwriter Jason Isbell and his band The 400 Unit take out a career-best chart peak with Reunions. Isbell’s seventh album is the follow-up to The Nashville Sound (#30 Jun. ’17). It features the legendary David Crosby on backing vocals.

#37: Charli XCX ‘How I’m Feeling Now’ – Charli XCX releases How I’m Feeling Now, her second album in less than a year. The follow-up to Charli (#7 Sept. ’19) was written and recorded by the British pop artist while in self-isolation.
