Singles Chartifacts: 

#1: Tones And I ‘Dance Monkey’ – ‘Dance Monkey’ extends its record for the longest time at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart to 23 weeks. The song also came in at #1 on the Australian Artist Singles Chart for 2019 and #10 in the Australian Artist Singles Chart for the decade. Tones And I’s latest single ‘Never Seen The Rain’ logs an 11th week inside the Top Ten, where it sits at #9, while her The Kids Are Coming EP rises one spot to #6 on the ARIA Albums Chart.

#8: Justin Bieber ‘Yummy’ (debut) – The first taste of Justin Bieber’s forthcoming fifth studio album, the R&B-style ‘Yummy’ is the Canadian singer’s first entry as lead artist in the ARIA Singles Chart since ‘Friends’ debuted at #2 in August 2017. This is Bieber’s eighth top ten chart entry on his own, although he’s a featured artist on many other Top Ten hits.  Bieber also appears in the Top 50 this week as featured vocalist on Dan + Shay’s ‘10,000 Hours’, which drops three places to #24, while his collaboration with Ed Sheeran, ‘I Don’t Care’, which peaked at #1 last May, slides five spots to #35.

#18: Roddy Ricch ‘The Box’ (debut) – Californian rapper Roddy Ricch makes his ARIA Charts debut with this track from his recently released debut album, Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial, which debuts at #33 on the ARIA Albums Chart this week. Despite not being intended as an official single, ‘The Box’ is the 21-year-old’s highest-charting song anywhere in the world, peaking at #3 in the US.

#37: Brockhampton ‘Sugar’ (debut) – American hip hop collective Brockhampton enter the ARIA Singles Chart for the first time with ‘Sugar’, the latest single from their fifth studio album Ginger. A collaboration of vocalists, producers, engineers and visual creatives, Brockhampton was formed by members of the group AliveSinceForever, who met through a Kanye West fan forum in response to a request from founding member Kevin Abstract. This month, the group has toured Australia as headliners of FOMO Festival.

#47: The Chainsmokers feat. Amy Shark ‘The Reaper’ – Pairing up with Australian singer Amy Shark, The Chainsmokers score their 18th entry in the ARIA Singles Top 50. The US dance music duo first hit the chart with ‘#SELFIE’ (#3 Apr. ‘14), and reached their highest position with ‘Closer’ (#1 Aug. ‘16).

Albums Chartifacts:

#1: Harry Styles ‘Fine Line’ – The former One Direction member’s second studio album spends a third week atop the ARIA Albums Chart, having only missed out once in its four-week run. It remains #1 on the ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart for the fourth week in a row. The latest single from the LP, ‘Adore You’ retains the #10 position on the Singles Chart, while ‘Watermelon Sugar’ rises one place to #22.

#7: Lewis Capaldi ‘Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent’ – Rising nine places, Lewis Capaldi’s debut LP reaches a new peak on the ARIA Albums Chart. The 23-year-old Scottish singer has been a staple on Australian airwaves for months, scoring breakthrough success with single ‘Someone You Loved’, which reached #4 on the Singles Chart in June 2019 and this week sits at #17. Latest single ‘Before You Go’ this week leaps six places to a new high of #12.

#11: Stormzy ‘Heavy Is The Head’ – UK rapper Stormzy returns to #11 with his latest album Heavy Is The Head. Released just prior to Christmas, the album hit the same position when it first entered the chart. His debut album Gang Signs & Prayer (#11, Mar ’17) also peaked just one spot outside the top ten. His latest single ‘Own It’ features Ed Sheeran and remains in the ARIA Chart Top 50.

#30: Lizzo ‘Cuz I Love You’ – Off the back of her Australian tour dates, Lizzo re-enters the ARIA Albums Chart with her third studio album, Cuz I Love You, which debuted at #38 in April 2019 and reached a peak of #26 last October. Meanwhile her sleeper-hit single ‘Good As Hell’, originally released in 2016, sits at #11 on the ARIA Singles Chart. The US singer, rapper and flautist recently assisted with bushfire relief efforts by volunteering at Foodbank Victoria.
