Singles Chartifacts:

#1: Tones And I ‘Dance Monkey’ – A week on from breaking the record for most weeks at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart by an Australian artist, Tones And I holds on to the top spot for an eleventh week with ‘Dance Monkey’. This week, the singer-songwriter breaks the record for most weeks at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart by a female solo act; a record previously jointly-held by Sandi Thom’s ‘I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers in My Hair)’ (2010) and Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You’ (1992/93). Tones And I has received eight nominations for the 2019 ARIA Awards, including for Song Of The Year and Best Video for ‘Dance Monkey’.

#3: Travis Scott ‘Highest In The Room’ – American rapper Travis Scott takes out his first Top 50 debut for 2019 with ‘Highest In The Room’. The track becomes Scott’s third Top Ten single and his highest peak to date, surpassing ‘Sicko Mode’ (#6 Feb. ’19), which spent 38 weeks in the Top 50.

#4: Dan + Shay & Justin Bieber ‘10,000 Hours’ – American country duo Dan + Shay team up with Justin Bieber for ‘10,000 Hours’. The track becomes the first to hit the Singles Chart Top 50 for Dan + Shay. Bieber took out his third #1 on the Singles Chart earlier this year with the collaboration with Ed Sheeran, ‘I Don’t Care’ (#1 May ’19).

#7: Maroon 5 ‘Memories’ – Jumping up five spots to #7, Maroon 5 crack the Top Ten with ‘Memories’. The single becomes the American band’s twelfth Top Ten single in Australia. They first appeared in the Top Ten with ‘This Love’ (#8 May ’04).

#11: Regard ‘Ride It’ – The week’s biggest move comes from Kosovan DJ Regard and his remix of Jay Sean’s 2008 hit, ‘Ride It’. In its third week in the Top 50, it’s jumped 17 spots to #11. In the UK, it has peaked at #2.
