ARIA Country Albums Chart special mention: This week, the late Slim Dusty’s Greatest Hits collection, The Very Best Of Slim Dusty, has achieved the milestone of 1000 weeks in the ARIA Country Albums Chart. Originally released in 1998, the album has achieved almost 20 years straight in the chart.

Dan Rosen, Chief Executive, ARIA, said today, “ARIA would like to congratulate the late ARIA Hall Of Famer Slim Dusty on this amazing achievement. To see an artist reach this milestone is a testament to the King Of Country’s enduring appeal and incredible artistry.  He is, and always will be, an Australian icon and clearly his music will continue to be loved by generations of fans.”

Singles Chartifacts: 

#1: 5 Seconds Of Summer ‘Youngblood’ – For the eighth straight week, Sydney’s 5 Seconds Of Summer top the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘Youngblood’.  The track joins Austin Tayshus’ ‘Australiana’. Savage Garden’s ‘Truly Madly Deeply’ and Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ in a tie for the second most weeks at #1 on the chart.

#3: Drake ‘In My Feelings’ – After scoring eleven entries in last week’s Top 50, Drake’s dominance has reduced this week, with seven tracks remaining in the chart. His highest entry this week comes with ‘In My Feelings’. After debuting at #15 last week, it’s jumped up to #3 to become the Canadian rapper’s ninth Top Five entry.

#5: Dean Lewis ‘Be Alright’ – In its second week in the Top 50, Dean Lewis’ ‘Be Alright’ moves up 14 spots to #5, becoming the Sydney singer-songwriter’s first appearance in the ARIA Top Ten.

#8: Juice WRLD ‘Lucid Dreams’ – Seven weeks into its run in the chart, Juice WRLD’s debut entry ‘Lucid Dreams’ hits the Top Ten for the first time at #8. It has also cracked the Top Ten in the US and New Zealand.

#10: Dennis Lloyd ‘Nevermind’ – With a move of ten spots, Israeli musician/producer Dennis Lloyd hits the Top Ten for the first time with ‘Nevermind’. The track debuted on the chart in April and previously peaked at #19 for three weeks.

#1: Drake ‘Scorpion’ – Drake holds on to the top spot on the ARIA Albums Chart for a second week with Scorpion. His previous chart-topper Views (#1 May ’16) only spent one week at #1.

#6: P!nk ‘Beautiful Trauma’ – As her Australian tour wraps up its first week, P!nk’s former #1 Beautiful Trauma returns to the Top Ten for a 21st week. The American singer-songwriter’s Greatest Hits…So Far!!! has moved up two spots to #15.

#10: Celine Dion ‘The Best So Far…2018 Tour Edition’ – Ahead of her Australian tour, Celine Dion returns to the Top 50 for the first time in five years with The Best So Far…2018 Tour Edition. The album includes #1 singles ‘The Power Of Love’ (#1 Apr. ’94), ‘Because You Loved Me’ (#1 Aug. ’96) and ‘My Heart Will Go On’ (#1 Feb. ’98), as well as other hits from throughout the Canadian star’s career. Celine Dion last appeared on the Albums Chart with Loved Me Back To Life (#9 Nov. ’13).

#12: Hillsong Young & Free ‘III’ – After debuting at #15 last week, Hillsong Young & Free’s fourth Top 50 entry III moves up three spots in its second week in the chart. The Hillsong Worship album There Is More has re-entered the chart this week at #18.

#13: Odette ‘To A Stranger’ (Debut)– Sydney singer-songwriter Odette makes her first ARIA Charts debut with To A Stranger. Also known as Georgia Sallybanks, the English-born artist lined up an impressive array of collaborators for her first album including producer and songwriters Damian Taylor (Bjork, The Prodigy, The Killers, UNKLE), Charlie Hugall (Florence and the Machine, Ed Sheeran, Kaiser Chiefs), Alex Hope (Troye Sivan, Broods), Sarah Aarons (Zedd, Dua Lipa and vocalist on tracks with The Rubens & LDRU) and Paul Mac (The Dissociatives, Silverchair). One of the album’s tracks, ‘Watch Me Read You’, was #56 in the 2017 Triple J Hottest 100.
