Singles Chartifacts: 

#1: 5 Seconds Of Summer ‘Youngblood’ – As they release their third studio album, Youngblood, 5 Seconds Of Summer hold the top spot on the ARIA Singles Chart for a fourth consecutive week with the album’s title track. The track has also been #1 in New Zealand for two weeks.

#3: Maroon 5 Feat. Cardi B ‘Girls Like You’ – After debuting at #5 last week, Maroon 5’s ‘Girls Like You’ has climbed up two spots in its second week on the Singles Chart. It becomes the American group’s fifth single to chart in the Top Three and the first since ‘One More Night’ (#2 Aug. ’12).

#4: Selena Gomez ‘Back To You’ – Moving to #4 in its fifth week on the chart, ‘Back To You’ equals Selena Gomez’s highest Singles Chart peak reached with the Kygo collaboration ‘It Ain’t Me’ (#4 Mar. ’17).

#8: Anne-Marie ‘2002’ – Returning to the Top Ten after two weeks at #11, Anne-Marie’s ‘2002’ picks up a new peak at #8. It had previously peaked at #10. 

#10: Kanye West ‘All Mine’ – Climbing up two spots from last week’s debut position, Kanye West’s ‘All Mine’ hits #10. It becomes the hip hop artist’s first appearance in the Top Ten as a lead artist since his collaboration with Rihanna and Paul McCartney, ‘FourFiveSeconds’ (#1 Feb. ’15).

Albums Chartifacts:

#1: Sheppard ‘Watching The Sky’ (Debut) – Brisbane band Sheppard score their first #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with Watching The Sky. The group’s second studio album comes four years on from debut Bombs Away (#2 Jul. ’14) and includes the singles ‘Keep Me Crazy’ (#37 Apr. ’17) and ‘Coming Home’ (#22 Jan. ’18).

Watching The Sky is the fifth Australian #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart in 2018 after Parkway Drive’s Reverence, Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu’s Djarimirri (Child Of The Rainbow), Kylie Minogue’s Golden and Vance Joy’s Nation Of Two.

#4: Kids See Ghosts ‘Kids See Ghosts’ (Debut) – After topping the Albums Chart last week with ye, Kanye West picks up another Top Ten entry as a member of Kids See Ghost. The self-titled debut for the duo, which also features Kid Cudi, includes contributions from Pusha T, Ty Dolla Sign, Yasiin Bey, Andre 3000, Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and more. The track ‘4th Dimension’ has debuted at #46 on this week’s Singles Chart. It’s Kid Cudi’s first appearance on the Albums Chart since Indicud (#28 Apr. ’13).

#8: Lily Allen ‘No Shame’ (Debut) – British singer-songwriter Lily Allen returns with her fourth album and first in four yearsNo Shame. The follow-up to Sheezus (#4 May ’14) features collaborations with producers Mark Ronson and BloodPop®, Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig and rapper Giggs, among others.

#13: Jorja Smith ‘Lost & Found’ (Debut) – Jorja Smith makes her ARIA Charts debut with Lost & Found. The British R&B artist’s debut album comes two years on from the release of her first single, ‘Blue Lights’. In the interim, she has collaborated with the likes of Drake and Khalid and featured on one track on Black Panther: The Album (#2 Feb. ’18).

#14: Olivia Newton-John ‘Hopelessly Devoted: The Hits’ (Debut) – 20 of the best-loved tracks by Olivia Newton-John are collected on Hopelessly Devoted: The Hits. The album gives the ARIA Hall Of Fame member her first solo entry in the ARIA Top 50 since Stronger Than Before (#39 Apr. ’06). With John Farnham, Newton-John has topped the charts in recent years with Two Strong Hearts (#1 Jul. ’15) and Friends For Christmas (#1 Dec. ’16).
