Singles Chartifacts: 

#1: Lil Nas X ‘Old Town Road’ – After dropping to #2 last week, Lil Nas X’s ‘Old Town Road’ returns to #1 on this week’s ARIA Singles Chart. It’s the track’s fifth week in the top spot.

#5: Lewis Capaldi ‘Someone You Loved’ – Entering this week’s Albums Chart at #10 with debut album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent, Lewis Capaldi moves up two spots on the Singles Chart to #5, scoring a new peak with ‘Someone You Loved’.

#11: Tyler, The Creator ‘Earfquake’ (Debut) – As well as debuting at #3 on the Albums Chart with Igor, Tyler, The Creator takes out four debuts on this week’s Singles Chart. On top of sitting at #11 with ‘Earfquake’, the American rapper has also charted with ‘I Think’ (#30), ‘Igor’s Theme’ (#45) and ‘Running Out Of Time’ (#48). These are his first ever Top 50 entries on the Singles Chart.

#13: Halsey ‘Nightmare’ (Debut) – Halsey releases her second single for 2019, ‘Nightmare’. The track comes three months on from her collaboration with Yungblud, ’11 Minutes’ (#23 Mar. ’19). Halsey’s previous single ‘Without Me’ (#2 Dec. ’18) sits at #38 this week.

#21: Lizzo ‘Truth Hurts’ – Three weeks into its run in the Top 50, Lizzo’s ‘Truth Hurts’ moves up five spots to claim a new peak at #21.

Albums Chartifacts:

#1: Conrad Sewell ‘Life’ (Debut) – Releasing his debut album, Life, Australian singer-songwriter Conrad Sewell debuts at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Life includes the single ‘Healing Hands’ (#7 Jul. ’18), as well as former #1 ‘Start Again’ (#1 Jun. ’15). Sewell previously appeared on the Albums Chart with the EP All I Know (#9 Nov. ’15).

Life is the third Australian #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart in 2019.

#3: Tyler, The Creator ‘Igor’ (Debut) – American rapper Tyler, The Creator scores a new Albums Chart peak with Igor. Featuring contributions by Solange, Kanye West, Pharrell, Santigold, CeeLo Green and more, it’s his second Top Ten entry after Flower Boy (#8 Jul. ’17). Four of Igor’s tracks sit in the Top 50 on this week’s Singles Chart, the highest being ‘Earfquake’ at #11.

#5: Rammstein ‘Rammstein’ (Debut) – After a ten-year break, German industrial band Rammstein return with their self-titled seventh album. The follow-up to Liebe ist für alle da (#9 Nov. ’09) becomes the group’s third Top Ten and highest chart peak. They first hit the Top Ten with Mutter(#10 Apr. ‘10).

#6: The National ‘I Am Easy To Find’ (Debut) – American indie rock band The National return with eighth studio album, I Am Easy To Find. The follow-up to Sleep Well Beast (#2 Sept. ’17) is the group’s third Top Ten on the ARIA Albums Chart and was co-produced by The National and film and music video director Mike Mills.

#7: DJ Khaled ‘Father Of Asahd’ (Debut) – Hip hop producer DJ Khaled scores a third Top Ten entry with Father Of Asahd. The American’s eleventh studio album features a host of guests including Cardi B, Lil Wayne, SZA, Nas, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Future, Justin Bieber and the late Nipsey Hussle. Two singles from the album have charted: ‘No Brainer’ (#6 Aug. ’18) and ‘Just Us’ (#32 May ’19). DJ Khaled has previously hit the Top Ten with the albums Major Key (#6 Aug. ’16) and Grateful (#7 Jul. ’17).
