Singles Chartifacts: 

#1: Drake ‘Nice For What’ – After two weeks at #2, Drake’s ‘Nice For What’ returns to the top of the ARIA Singles Chart for a second week. So far in 2018, the Canadian rapper has topped 13 out of 20 ARIA Singles Charts.

#2: Post Malone ‘Better Now’ – Following his record-equalling efforts last week, American rapper Post Malone still has eleven tracks in the Top 50 this week. While most entries have moved down, ‘Better Now’ has moved up two to a new peak at #2. Post Malone is also charting with ‘Psycho’ (#5), ‘Rockstar’ (#17), ‘Paranoid’ (#26), ‘Ball For Me’ (#30), ‘I Fall Apart’ (#31), ‘Candy Paint’ (#33), ‘Spoil My Night’ (#40), ‘Stay’ (#43), ‘Rich & Sad’ (#44) and ‘Over Now’ (#50).

#7: Childish Gambino ‘This Is America’ (Debut) – American actor, comedian, writer, director, producer, singer, songwriter and rapper Donald Glover picks up his first Top Ten on the ARIA Singles Chart under the Childish Gambino moniker with ‘This Is America’. It’s his second entry in the Top 50; ‘Redbone’ spent 21 weeks in the chart, peaking at #27 in August 2017.

#9: 5 Seconds Of Summer ‘Youngblood’ – Climbing up 15 spots, 5 Seconds Of Summer’s ‘Youngblood’ cracks the Top Ten for the first time. It’s the Sydney group’s fifth Top Ten single and first since ‘She’s Kinda Hot’ (#6 Jul. ’15).

#13: Amy Shark ‘I Said Hi’ – In its fourth week in the chart, Amy Shark’s ‘I Said Hi’ has jumped up 15 spots to a hit a new peak at #13.

Albums Chartifacts:

#1: Parkway Drive ‘Reverence’ (Debut) – With their sixth studio album, Byron Bay metalcore band Parkway Drive have snared their second #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Reverence comes three years on from Ire (#1 Oct. ’15) and becomes their fifth entry in the ARIA Top Ten, having also charted with Atlas (#3 Nov. ’12), Deep Blue (#2 Jul. ’10) and Horizons (#6 Oct. ’07).

Reverence is the fourth Australian #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart in 2018 after Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu’s Djarimirri (Child Of The Rainbow), Kylie Minogue’s Golden and Vance Joy’s Nation Of Two.

#8: Leon Bridges ‘Good Thing’ (Debut) – Leon Bridges grabs a second Top Ten album with Good Thing. The American soul artist’s second studio album is the follow-up to Coming Home (#8 Jun. ’15). Bridges recently played a run of dates in Australia, including a performance at Bluesfest in Byron Bay.

#10: Middle Kids ‘Lost Friends’ (Debut) – Sydney indie rock trio Middle Kids crack the Top Ten on the ARIA Albums Chart for the first time with Lost Friends. The group’s debut album hits just over a year since they made their first chart appearance with their self-titled EP (#26 Feb. ’17). 

#14: P!nk ‘Beautiful Trauma’ – P!nk’s fifth #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart jumps back up 15 spots on this week’s chart. Her Australian tour in support of Beautiful Trauma begins in Perth on 3 July.

#16: Sam Smith ‘The Thrill Of It All’ – After jumping 24 spots last week, Sam Smith’s The Thrill Of It All moves up a further eight spots to #16. It’s the album’s 26th week in the Top 50.
