After five successful years, the team that brought us the hugely successful festival The Grass is Greener announces a brand new festival experience – The Backyard Series. Travelling to regional centres across Queensland, bringing their dynamic homegrown line-up to punters in their own backyard.
For its highly anticipated debut, The Backyard Series will be making stops in Townsville, Toowoomba, Mackay and Gladstone this October/November. Areas often overlooked for high calibre, contemporary festivals, The Backyard Series aims to be the highlight of 2021 for these regional communities, bringing some much-needed entertainment in what’s been a difficult time.
The Grass Is Greener has gained a tried and true following in Northern Queensland and are excited to spread this experience across regional Queensland welcoming multiple ARIA award-winning party starters Peking Duk who will headline the inaugural event series. They will be joined by North East Party House off the back of their successful 2020 album ‘Shelf Life’, Sydney electro-pop artist Boo Seeka, and internationally acclaimed EDM juggernaut Will Sparks. Jade Zoe, Jesswar and Tenzin will round out an all Australian superstar lineup.

Founder Oli Frost comments: “It means so much to us to be able to extend our festival into regional centres in 2021 and bring an amazing showcase to communities all over Queensland. We feel obligated to bring entertainment and community fun to these towns and we can’t wait to have one hell of a backyard bash!!”
Since 2016, TGIG has invited exciting artists and represented the perfect balance of music for one hell of a party. It is a careful curation that has seen the event grow into a staple in the Australian festival community, now, with The Backyard Series, we are going to see more great festivals reach more great regional venues and bring exciting acts from all over the country.
This will be the greatest night in many months for these communities, so grab your mates, dust off the old dancing shoes, and be a part of the best night of 2021.
