PNAU’s Nick Littlemore took fans on a journey of his illustrious career and into the depths of his creative mind today, undertaking his first ever Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything). With fans from all around the world tuning in to ask questions, Nick revealed some previously unknown secrets about his work with PNAU and Empire of the Sun, his health struggles over the past year, his plans to come back to Australia, how he’s working with Elton John again, plus PNAU’s latest single ‘Lucky’ featuring his other newly-launched project, Vlossom.

Some highlights include Nick revealing that PNAU’s last album Changa really was about psychedelics: “Changa was literally a trip that was our renaissance into the world of psychedelics and that album is the result of that exploration. Visually we were led by the worlds we were exploring on our journeys.”

Where he is scouting for new talent if young artists are wanting to work with PNAU: “At the moment I’m trawling through triple j’s Unearthed to find new artists and I’ve been contacting a bunch of different people. I found a great characterful artist from Western Australia named Rami and a wonderful singer from Newcastle by the name of the Djanaba. It’s so exciting that my home country is exploding with talent and I look very much forward to working and collaborating with more people all the time.”

Nick also revealed he’s working on new Empire of the Sun music right now, plus PNAU are collaborating with Elton John again! PNAU previously got access to Sir Elton’s back catalogue and reworked it into the UK No.1 album Good Morning To The Night.

“We are pushing deeper cuts and harder grooves working with Elton’s later ‘70s work and much of the ‘80s material also. We are beyond thrilled to have this incredible opportunity once more.”

The Reddit AMA comes as PNAU’s latest single ‘Lucky’ featuring Vlossom hits over 2.5 million streams and debuts on the Billboard Dance/Electronic chart. With support coming from Diplo’s Revolution on SiriusXM, plus nabbing cover of Spotify’s mint playlist, ‘Lucky’ is on a steep upwards trajectory. The accompanying ‘Lucky’ video offers viewers a chance to escape the world we live in for a moment, transporting them into a psychedelic journey of discovery and positivity.

Adding to the momentum, this Friday a peak-time techno remix of ‘Lucky’ will be dropping from Will Clarke. With early support coming from triple j’s Friday Night Shuffle, Will Clarke’s remix of ‘Lucky’ honours the rave past of PNAU since they met at school back in the ‘90s. We’re happy to say, that the remix cooks and bangs in equal measures.

“I love being asked to remix someone or a group outside of the genre I work in,” explains Will Clarke. “It challenges me and allows me to turn it in to my own. The vocals on the original song are really powerful and I wanted to give them the limelight whilst bringing in more of a heavier sluggish beat and bass to make it more playable in my sets.”

PNAU is the multi-platinum-selling, ARIA award-winning electronic act of Nick Littlemore, Peter Mayes and Sam Littlemore, famed for their extensive career born out of the underground clubs and festival dancefloors of Australia. With a catalogue of their own hits and multiple albums behind them, PNAU have enjoyed a powerful renaissance over the past few years, with multi-platinum hits ‘Go Bang’ and ‘Chameleon’ becoming inescapable on the airwaves in their home country of Australia and climbing the Billboard Dance charts in the US. 2019 singles ‘Solid Gold’ and ‘All Of Us’, embedded PNAU as the most cutting edge electronic act to watch on a global scale, finding a loyal fan base amongst the most influential decision makers at BBC Radio 1, triple j and streaming services across the globe.
