Have you always wanted to be a musician? When did you get the song writing bug? 
I have been creating and performing music for basically my entire life! I guess I’ve been creating music in my head for as long as I know, my parents had a massive record collection & I would spend hours listening to various records, studying the music & trying to figure out what instrument made each sound I could hear.  In my spare time, I would unknowingly try and make melodies… I think that’s where I caught the writing bug. 

How would you describe your sound? Why do you think people resonate with your music?
Hmmm this is a tough one, but I make a very conscious effort when I’m making music to try & sound like Boo Seeka – but I guess we are a bit like Dream-tronica? 
In regards to people resonating with my music, I’m not entirely sure, but I think when we first released Kingdom Leader, Deception Bay etc. there wasn’t a whole lot of music that sounded like those tracks.  No matter what the reason, I am so grateful for every person that has found some meaning in my music. 

Which artist’s music and/or performance, past or present, inspires you today? 
The Beatles, Dido, Notorious B.I.G, Arctic Monkeys, Alt – J & Tame Impala are all some artists that are inspiring me more than ever. Each one of these artists has released music that is simply timeless in my opinion, and that inspires me more than anything. 

Your new single ‘Finish What You Started’ has just been released/! Describe its origin and evolution. 
This one all started with just the vocal sample that you hear at the start of the track that goes like: “You want me, you want me”.  My producer, Matt & I really dug into this one as if we were imagining being in the crowd at a festival & having a lyric that could be shouted into the crowd. 

Is there an EP or Album on the drawing board?
There is indeed! My second record is coming in the not so distant future, I literally put the final touches on it this morning, so I cannot be happier. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!

Any tours or events coming up soon? What are you looking forward to, and what can the fans expect?
There are so many opportunities to see Boo live in 2022. I can’t say any dates right now but it will be headline shows, festivals, and even some super exciting support shows for one of my favorite artists (I may even feature on their album). 

How has COVID affected you to date? What have you introduced to balance the losses from missed events?
There is absolutely no denying that this period has been so challenging for the entire industry.  I don’t really know if I did anything to “cope”, I just had to lock in, accept the fact that I wasn’t going to play live shows. However, that mindset is in the past as we are staring down the barrel of a massive 2022. 

If you could perform with any music artist, Alive or Dead, who would you choose? And why? 
Ooo as I am someone who loves to write a good melody, it has to be Chris Martin!  Even though I don’t resonate as much with his new stuff, I just don’t think he can write a bad melody. 

What is the best thing about performing to a live audience? What’s been the career highlight so far?
I remember that feeling that I had when I was standing in the crowd, watching my favourite band, and the fact that I can do that to people now is the best feeeeelling.  
Some of my career highlights are: hearing our first song on the radio, selling out first show, playing festivals I used to attend as a punter, selling shows overseas – basically just being able to do music for a living haha.
