Whoa! It’s over ten years now. Well done. How did the band come together? Is there someone who is the “driving force”, or do you all make decisions together?
Crazy, right?! We met through a combination of Myspace and mutual friends in the music scene and have been together ever since. We all make decisions together, each of us has their own strengths so we do a great job of letting each person lead where their strengths lie.

How would you describe your sound? How has it changed over the years since the first EP in 2014 to your last single last December?
We’re somewhere in the sphere of Alternative Rock with a sprinkle of pop. It’s definitely always circled that space, but has oscillated from poppier to rockier over the years. With “fever” we definitely played more into our rock roots.

It may sound like a stupid question, but why do you think fans love your music (which they obviously do and have done for many years)? What magic ingredient do you make sure to include?
Half the time we ask ourselves the same question. I think for us the magic ingredient is just making music we want to listen to as opposed to trying to fit a trend.

How will your recent break from “Fueled By Ramen” change things? What will your new found “independence” add to the mix?
We learned a lot from our time on the FBR, and were honored to be on their roster among so many incredible new and legendary artists. However, our roots came from being an independent band, we created two EPs and went on a world tour with no label so we know how to do that again. We’re excited to have full creative and logistical control again over our art and be able to include our fans more in the process.

Talking earlier about your latest single ‘Blindfolded’ what was its origin and evolution?
We started writing it coming out of “fever” when we were ready to move on from the fiery era we had been in. Blindfolded marks the beginning of the Nightmares and Daydreams era.

It has been 5 years since your last album. Is there one on the drawing board? I am sure the fans are excited to hear this answer.
Although we haven’t done a full length technically speaking in 5 years, we treated “fever” as such. We’re definitely working on a new body of music, but what form (ep vs lp) isn’t yet decided.

You are coming out to Australia in September. What are you looking forward to most, and what can the fans expect?
It’s been SO LONG since we’ve been back to Australia so really just can’t wait to come and hang out with our ATC fam. We’re going to be bringing a TON of energy and absolutely expect the fam to do the same!

Any other tours or events coming up soon?
Besides our full world tour?! We’re pretty much booked up with that for the year!

If you could perform with any music artist, Alive or Dead, who would you choose? And why?
That’s always such a tough one. I’m (Chrissy) a huge Foo Fighters fan so I would love to perform with them.

After ten years together, do you still have long-term aspirations as a music artist? If you do, what are they, and how are you progressing towards them?
Of course – we’re going to be the biggest band in the world.

With all that experience behind you, what piece of advice would you give to an artist starting out?
Do as much as possible on your own first. Learn about all of the different aspects of the industry, not just the creative part. When you don’t take the time to learn, you’re opening yourself up to let others take advantage of those vulnerabilities. Don’t let yourself fall into a place where you feel like you need someone. You are far more capable than anyone in the industry will give you credit for.

What is the best thing about performing to a live audience? What’s been the career highlights so far? After sharing the stage with the likes of Fall Out Boy, All Time Low and Good Charlotte, there are sure to be some good ones.
For me it’s still getting to perform the anthem for League of Legends twice. 2017- Legends Never Die and 2019- Phoenix. That was a dream come true.
