Fans of UK extreme metallers CRADLE OF FILTH must be pinching themselves and thinking it’s Christmas! Not only did the band play a string of brilliant (long-awaited) shows Downunder in 2018, the band is again returning to Australia AND New Zealand this September. The band is set to play its seminal opus concept piece “Cruelty and the Beast” in its entirety, to celebrate that album’s 20th anniversary.

DANI FILTH (founder/vocalist) makes no bones about his opinion on the original audio mix of the album, with a fully re-worked version (planned to be released to coincide with this tour) still in limbo.

“Originally it was supposed to go hand in hand with the remix and remaster that we undertook of the Cruelty and the Beast album. So that was all fully done. The album’s all packaged with original artwork from the original sessions, with some different artwork that people haven’t seen. All the press had been done, we did a video. And then Sony revealed the fact that they hadn’t actually asked any of the previous members, one of which has been really really obstinate and dischord about the release of the album. So it’s just stuck in legal hell at the moment.”

“So we just thought – well fuck it, we’re gonna do the tour anyway!”

Music has always been an important part of my life. Before I was 10 years old I was listening to Kiss, The Eagles, The Who, Split Enz and AC/DC… By my late teens my musical journey had landed me on the stage playing the hard rock and metal that I loved so much. Since 2014 my love of music has taken me behind the lens, and now I feel the stage rush from the photo pit instead! Even after shooting 100’s of shows I still get that rush from the energy on the stage and I strive to capture that same energy in my images. The thrill of the chase… there’s nothing better!!
