First up, can you please give us a quick intro to Georgia Flood the artist?
Hi my name is Georgia Flood, I am a musician, singer and actress from Millowl, Australia. 

Have you always wanted to be a musician? When did you get the song writing bug?  
YES. Song writing bug when I was about 19. My love for producing came first, after I discovered the music program Reason in high school. I started making lots of like, 7 minute experimental electronic tracks that made no sense. Then I realized, to make a proper song and be considered as a professional singer, I’d have to write one. It came out of necessity at first, and I’m so glad I stuck with it, because I absolutely love song-writing now.

How would you describe your sound? Why do you think people resonate with your music?
I’m actually still finding my sound universe…Because I’ve only recently discovered my ‘voice’. I guess I would describe my voice as emotive…expressive…present. Perhaps, if people resonate with my voice, it’s because of that? 

Which artist’s music and/or performance, past or present, inspires you today? 
Fred Again has been inspiring me tremendously. Not just his sound, but his apparent mission. Uplifting people with absolute bangers – whilst maintaining the integrity of his message. Placing melancholic, heart wrenching lyrics into a joyous and loving universe of sound. When you listen to Fred Again, his humanity resounds.

Your new single Blue Honey has just been released! Describe its origin and evolution. 
Blue Honey started as a completely different place to where it is now. I eventually settled on this really simple acoustic version, but it still didn’t feel like it was portraying the songs true message.  So, I stripped it all right back, and just made a simple beat with the vocals layered over it. No instruments, no music. I sent that to Matt, and together we built it to where it is now. 

Any tours or events coming up soon? What are you looking forward to, and what can the fans expect?
Nothing planned…yet! Just working hard on my next songs, and their imminent releases. 

How has COVID affected you to date? What have you introduced to balance the losses from missed events?
I am only just beginning this year, as a professional musician. Lockdown for me, was a time to realize I wanted to pursue it professionally actually. 

If you could perform with any music artist, Alive or Dead, who would you choose? And why? 
Dolly Parton, because Dolly Parton. And because she looks like she’s having an absolute hoot on stage, she really involves the audience. 

Do you have any long-term aspirations as a music artist? 
I aspire to write music for films actually. I have written a few already.  I’d also just love to continue song-writing and performing and releasing music. 

What is the best thing about performing to a live audience? What’s been the career highlight so far?
I haven’t performed my own music yet.
