On Saturday the 23rd of June, Grace Shaw aka Mallrat, graced our evenings with an electric show held at the Northcote Social Club.
Opening the show with ‘Inside Voices’ the crowd at the intimate venue immediately sang back every word.
Backed by DJ Denim, Mallrat pumped out song after song with the biggest smile plastered across her face.
The crowd at the sold out show were as rowdy as they come, yelling out their affections for the singer through out the set. I even spotted a young lady with crutches waving them around in the air during the track ‘For Real’.

Mallrat took a break mid-set to thank her support, Ninajirachi & Eilish Gilligan, and we even sang happy birthday to her guitarist Tyne.
The second half of the show kicked off with an acoustic version of the track ‘Groceries’ from her new EP ‘In The Sky’. As well as an acoustic rendition of Outkast’s ‘Hey Ya!’.
The crowd were treated to a surprise from rapper Allday, who came out during the track ‘UFO’, which the artist features on.
The night concluded with hit tracks ‘Better’ & ‘ Uninvited’. Overall a high energy exceptional performance. I urge anyone who is a fan of indie pop, to get down and see a Mallrat show. She is a force, and she’s just going to keep getting bigger and better!
