Kicking off the night with a first of many guitar driven tracks, You Gotta Go was the perfect song to show the crowd what they should expect for the night. Followed up with Right Outta Me, we get our first taste of new Mastin with Not The Man For You. Having mastered the electric guitar in recent times, we’re treated with a guitar solo accompanied for almost every song.

Assuring us he’s going back in the studio after this tour and he’s not going to disappear for a year again, Reece brings the high energy down a notch by dedicating a cover of Fields Of Atherny to his Grandfather who recently passed, saying he promised he’d play it across the country for him.

After the classic Shout It Out we’re met with a very rock and roll edition of Stayin’ Alive, a cover Reece has brought with him all the way from his X-Factor days, full of Reece’s insanely powerful vocals, heavy drums courtesy of Mitch Rodgers and Taylor Sheridan shredding on bass. Closing the night with the title track of his EP, Suitcase of Stories we’re left hoping Mastin keeps true to his word and release more music and more tour dates.

Merging from crowd of predominantly young teen girls to 18+ shows, it’s not surprising to say there was a noticeable lack of his previous size audiences – that being said he did have some of the bar up and having a boogie for the get go – but surely as he continues down this new route of rock n roll and pub gigs, his following will grow once again. Throughout the last 6 years, I can’t tell ya’ll how many times I’ve seen Reece perform but what I can say and guarantee is, he never disappoints.
