Seaforth is a country-pop duo made up of childhood best friends Mitch Thompson and Tom Jordan. Two guys, six eyes & four thighs. Over two decades of friendship, a passion for music, a move across the globe and the rest is history. Since moving from Sydney to Nashville, Tennessee in 2017 the boys have been on a roll. They shared the stage with the likes of Keith Urban and Kane Brown, they’ve earned praise from Billboard, Hollywood life and the like. With over 340 million streams and each musical release being better than the last, their genuine talent speaks for itself.

Hot off the release of their latest EP, What I Get For Loving You – Which was entirely produced by Tom in their home studio – they’re finally setting off on their headline About Time Tour because it truly is about time they toured Australia.

Starting the night with Melanie Dyer and her partner Jackson James they got the crowd ready for the night with hits like Run Out of Road, Cheap Moscato and of course Memphis T-shirt. With her bubbly personality and easy going set she was the perfect candidate to get us warmed up for Seaforth. It is great to see that the Seaforth boys not only help support but encourage a fellow Australian upcoming country star.

Now when I say Seaforth know how to put on a show, I mean it. Opening their set with Talk About, it was guaranteed to be a good night and they boys definitely did not disappoint. Along side frontmen Tom & Mitch we have Justin de Graaf on bass guitar and Josh Devine on drums, who not only play incredibly along side the boys but add even more character to the night. Following up with Palm of Your Hand and Anything She Says X Want You Back by The Jackson 5, with the crowd singing back all the lyrics its clear to see that Seaforths long awaited return to Australia was well worth it.

Taking it back to how it all began for a short but sweet acoustic set with only Mitch & Tom and their guitars, the progression of their musical talent is evident. Something we all learnt during Magic this night is that Mitch can do a rather impressive mouth trumpet.

When Josh & Justin join the boys on stage again, we’re straight back in to it with the absolute banger that is Good Beer – well back into it after we all had a laugh over Justin running off stage because he forgot his guitar back stage. Good Beer had everyone cheering even more when Mitch put his Australian roots on display for a shoey. With a cover of Drakes Hotline Bling in to Good and Gone, there is no denying the boys stage presence, every move they make and every story they tell keeps the audience so captivated.

With the night coming to a bitter sweet end, Tom & Mitch didn’t miss a beat. From Queen of Daytona Beach they slowed it down just a smidge for Breakups and finished their set with an obvious fan favourite, Love That, if there is anything to be certain of it’s that Seaforth know how to put on a show to remember.

The first time I saw Seaforth live was way back in 2015, they did a cover of The 1975’s Chocolate and I was hooked. To say they’ve come along way would be an understatement. As a girl who wasn’t a big fan of country music growing up, Seaforth showed me what I was missing. They’ve perfected the blend of country-pop, making their music enjoyable for quite literally anyone and everyone. Seaforth are incredible performers with the showmanship and stage presence to match, any expectation I had for them has well and truly been exceeded.

At the root of it all Seaforth is two best mates who love to make music and perform together, that authenticity makes them so enjoyable to watch. A Seaforth concert isn’t them just singing songs, there’s laughs and there’s storytelling making it a whole experience. After their original debut Australian show – scheduled for March 2020 – was cancelled due to covid, the extra long wait was worth it and the About Time Tour gave us everything we could’ve wanted and more.
