Following on from the release of their standout single ‘2 U xoxo’, Newcastle-based indie-punk rock three-piece, RAAVE TAPES, have just unveiled the accompanying music video shot and produced by James Fox of The Filmery.

Filmed on what was literally the hottest day of 2017 (48 degrees Celsius), the clip shines a light on an underrated sport ‘OzTag’, and stars the group themselves and cameos from fellow band friends including Wavevom, PALS, Voodoo Youth, Vacations, White Blanks and Archy Punker.
Front man / guitarist, Joab Eastley, describes the motivation behind the clip:
“We thought it’d be a really nice time to play some friendly, competitive sport with our mates on a Saturday morning. We were wrong. So wrong. It was so hot that they literally cancelled all sport in NSW. They called lawn bowls off, IT WAS TOO HOT FOR LAWN BOWLS & we had a bunch of hungover muso’s attempting to run around a footy field. Full credit to the boys/gals, they really gave 110%.”
Since the launch of ‘2 U xoxo’, the track has seen stellar support and reviews from the likes of triple j, worldwide tastemaker blogs including Pop Occulture (USA), We Love That (GER), Fuzzy Logic (USA), Pilerats (AUS), Loudersoft (USA), and play / rotation on community radio stations 4ZZZ, Rabbit Radio and SYN.
In celebration of ‘2 U xoxo’s release, RAAVE TAPES are currently touring the country, which has already seen a performance at NSW Central Coast boutique festival ‘Mountain Sounds Festival’and support slots alongside Hockey Dad and Winston Surfshirt in Newcastle and Wollongong respectively.
