From the Overseas Passenger Terminal’s Cargo Hall in Sydney on Thursday, August 23, Lonnie Liston Smith (US) will grace Australian shores for the first time, bringing his 40-year-strong legacy to Red Bull Music Presents for an evening of enlightening, cosmic and modern jazz. Having worked alongside pioneers of the genre including Miles Davis, Pharaoh Sanders and Roland Kirk, Smith not only has an enduring influence among his peers, but his work continues to be an important backbone for sampling amid the world’s hip-hop community. Featured across hits from Jay-Z and Nas, to today’s new breed including Vince Staples and Joey Badass, Smith’s music and collaborations appear on over 230 tracks to date. Following a visit to harbourside Sydney from the Overseas Passenger Terminal’s Cargo Hall – a unique warehouse space featuring floor-to-ceiling water views – Smith will venture to Melbourne’s Nightcat on Saturday, August 25 to continue his reigning prowess in the field of cosmic, soul-elevating jazz. On the one-year anniversary of his Mood Forever debut EP release, Manu Crooks will give a spectacular homecoming performance from Sydney’s Overseas Passenger Terminal, Cargo Hall on Friday, August 24. Following a series of live collaborations and an induction into Red Bull’s artist development program last year, the trailblazing hip-hop upstart will perform from his growing repertoire that has gained the attention of the world over, including Zane Lowe, Stormzy and Alison Wonderland to date. Having spent the past year touring Europe and the US to adoring fans in Greece, Paris and London, alongside personal invitations to support A$AP Ferg, Crooks’ infectious attitude and relentless drive ensure his return voyage on the Red Bull Music stage is one epic celebration of warehouse proportions that is not to be missed.

Supporting Manu Crooks on the evening, will be his long-time collaborator and studio mate, B-Wise. The South-West Sydney artist continues to keep his name in lights from tracks like “40 Days” and “Lately”, and has a debut album on the horizon. Joining him in warming the stage, will be Brisbane’s UV boi  فوق بنفسجي. Following what’s set to be an enigmatic performance at Splendour in the Grass for Red Bull Music Presents A Night With, Emmanuel’s luscious offerings will add a hypnotising element to the evening. Adding to the celebrations will be Milan Ring. From the sparkling city of Angels to humble Australian outback bedroom beats, Milan’s music is a humble juxtaposition of spiced cross-continental rhythms. Also joining the line-up will be emcee and signee to BLESSED’s label WVS, Lil Spacely – as well as local DJ hero and firm fixture across Sydney’s nightlife, Ebony Boadu.
