Rejjie Snow today shares the clip for his latest single ‘Disco Pantz’ feat. Tinashe and grouptherapy., described by tastemaker site Complex as “new funk-meets-indietronica… with plenty of replay value”.
The single is the fourth instalment from his forthcoming album Baw Baw Black Sheep, out next Friday July 9 vis BMG AUS.
The video is directed by videographer newcomer and Rejjie’s mate @kingcon2k11 and features video footage of 90s house parties, Claymation and illustrations for a nostalgic effect. Rejjie says on the visuals, “For the Disco Pantz video I wanted to create a feel-good mood and the feeling of having fun. The house party encapsulates this the best”.

On the Irish rapper’s latest single, he collaborates with the enigmatic R&B singer Tinashe and L.A. rap-pop collective, grouptherapy. Fused with funk and interlaced with Tinashe’s honeyed vocals, the slowed down boogie number is a heady soundtrack for the small hours of the night. The single has already garnered support from specialist DJs at Radio One including Annie Mac, who premiered Disco Pantz as her Hottest Record in the World, as well as getting a spin on triple j’s 2021 with Richard Kingsmill.

‘Baw Baw Black Sheep’ is Rejjie’s third studio album which shows off his hyper-visual world building capabilities as he creates a cinematic soundtrack full of colour and joy working alongside Cam O’bi (as Executive Producer – Chance the Rapper, Vic Mensa, J.Cole) and frequent collaborator Dee Lilly (Big Sean, Mick Jenkins, Snoh Allegra).
“I approached [the album] light heartedly from the point of view of making a short film through music,” Rejjie explains. “I always loved Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. I watch it all the time. I thought of Baw Baw Black Sheep like a soundtrack to it. I put the movie on with my album, and they synced up perfectly. I tried to tap into all of these feelings. The music is really colourful, and the lyrics are often happy, because that was my state of mind.”
Never one to shy away from collaborations, Rejjie set the stage for Baw Baw Black Sheep releasing ‘Cookie Chips’, which features the late and legendary MF DOOM, followed by single ‘Mirrors’ with Snoh Aalegra which pairs sun-soaked production with laidback bars before Snoh turns up with slick and soulful cameo on the chorus. “It’s very nostalgic,” Rejjie elaborates. “I’m diving into little things that stood out from when I was younger. They’re tiny snapshots. I’m trying to paint a story with the lyrics. It’s got a happy vibe.” The album also features the languorous vocals of Tinashe and grouptherapy. for the sultry ‘Disco Pantz’.
Elsewhere a trap bounce underscores the chilled-out energy of ‘Relax’ also with collaboration from grouptherapy. before a moment of intimate dialogue. Cymbals simmer beneath tense verses and the double entendre-driven hook of ‘Oreos’. On the finale ‘Shooting Star’, a frenetic beat darts across the sky as his vocals soar amidst spacey zips and bleeps. “Everyone is a star in their own way,” he states. “I’m touching on this idea and trying to inspire on the last track.”
The bliss that Rejjie felt in that moment courses through the entire body of work.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
