The SAM Awards (The South Australian Music Awards) that will be held on November 17th at Hindley Street Music Hall, today announce the People’s Choice Nominees and People’s Choice Voting begins today via themusic.com.au.
In a record-breaking year for People’s Choice Nominations, 160, were submitted showcasing the strength of the South Australian Music Industry.
Their nominees are across 12 categories which include, the genres, Blues and Roots, Rock, Experimental, Electronic, Country, Hip Hop and Pop amongst others.

Some of the superb entrants include, electronic music superstar Motez, Punk darlings Teenage Joans, Jazz heavyweight Alexander Flood, and experimental rockers The Empty Threats.
Breakout star Elsy Wameyo is selected in the Hip Hop category off the back of her national Nilotic tour. The incomparable Electric Fields are up for best Pop Artist fresh off being nominated for Best artist at the NIMA’S, alongside some of the biggest names in music such as Baker Boy and The Kid Laroi.
SONS OF ZÖKU have won People’s Choice Experimental award for the past 3 years + have been nominated again. Tilly Tjala Thomas took out APRA AMCOS Emily Burrows Award + Best Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Award in 2021 and is nominated for best Pop Award this year.
Accompanying the People’s Choice nominees is the announcement of the SAM Awards’ judging panel including some of the most esteemed music industry professionals both locally and nationally..
Included on the 14-strong judging panel is Triple J Home and Hosed presenter Declan Byrne, Legendary Adelaide born front women of the Superjesus Sarah McLeod, First nations singer-songwriter Leah Flanagan and founder of Wundenberg studio Lewis Wundenberg.

I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
