SCENE & HEARD FESTIVAL

offers free tickets for farmers

Scene & Heard festival today announces A Farmers Day Out, an assistance and fundraising initiative designed to help farmers doing it tough. Festival organisers are giving away 100 free tickets to rural Aussies in the wake of the ongoing drought and will also include donation tins at the event gates with all proceeds going to charity Buy A Bale.

Newcastle is surrounded by an incredibly resilient rural community and in times of financial strain, leisure activities such as going to a live music event are put on the back burner for many. Studies have shown attending live music events can reduce stress levels. Festival Organisers hope A Farmers Day Out will provide a rare opportunity for some local farmers to get some much needed downtime.

Farmers and rural workers can register for the online ballot HERE before the end of September. Recipients will be chosen at random with farmers notified in early October. Scene & Heard are also running a Buy A Bale supporters page HERE.

About Scene & Heard festival

Crack out that old band shirt, dust off those Doc Martens and bust open that ancient box of glowsticks. It doesn’t matter which scene you were in or which scene you thought you were in, SCENE & HEARD is here for you. SCENE & HEARD is where you belong.

Say hello to a brand-new festival that isn’t just a line-up but an immersive journey back to when Spotify didn’t exist, and that 1999 triple j Hottest 100 CD was the only thing repeating on the car stereo.

Strutting into Wickham Park, Newcastle on Sunday November 4, SCENE & HEARD brings together a boom box full of talent in its first year including The Living End, Spiderbait, Something For Kate, Sneaky Sound System, Killing Heidi and more. Featuring a whole range of other goodies including a classic car display, vintage vinyl fair and markets, food trucks plus small batch craft brews and premium suds it’s the ultimate Sunday sesh – reinvented.
