Shredders get amped! Following a sold out 2017 festival, SHAKAFEST is back on deck for a third year in 2018 with a fresh date, frothin’ lineup of music and skateboarding – all at a bangin’ new home at the Gold Coast’s Broadwater Parklands on Saturday November 24.

Announced online by Australian comedian ‘Cunny’ (Josh Wade), the lineup once again brings some of the best national rock and hip-hop acts together for a day-long party in the sun. Leading the pack are Sydney hip-hop collective Bliss N Eso who join SHAKAFEST following a huge year with the release of their huge album Off The Grid. Party starters Last Dinosaurs grace the SHAKAFEST stage in the middle of a massive run. They’ve sold out every show on their upcoming tour and have a heap of new material on the way. Australia’s favourite space explorer, Alex The Astronaut brings her stunning live show and A+ banter to SHAKAFEST as does fellow electric lady Bec SandridgeSHAKAFEST brings two generations of scuzzy vibes together with Frenzal Rhomb and The Chats rocking up to ensure you’ve ‘Never Had So Much Fun’. Plus Brisbane’s gold-record-selling Carmouflage Rose and GC local Jesswar hit the SHAKA stage for the very first time. They are absolute bosses on the mic and their pure-fire hip-hop sets are not to be missed. For the laughs, ‘Shoey’ ambassador and all round good bloke, Frenchy is MC’ing the whole event. Plus, Frenchy’s band, Frenchy & The Talent are the first band to be announced on the brand new Rabbit Stage. Curated by the one and only Rabbit Radio crew the Rabbit Stage also hosts punk legends Clowns andVOIID. With heaps more artists to be announced, SHAKAFEST is just getting started.

Following the huge success of previous years, SHAKAFEST has outgrown its original home at Miami Shark Bar, leading to the relocation of the Coast’s favourite one-day-rager to a bigger space. Festival organisers say punters will be ‘absolutely stoked’ with the new ocean-side home at Broadwater Parklands with the rolling greens allowing more freedom for the team to be creative with the festival layout and the nearby G:link connecting to just about every transport hub in South East Queensland. The new site also allows for the return of the famed SHAKAFEST half-pipe with an impressive lineup of skateboarding talent to be announced soon.

Keen grommets can register HERE now for pre-sale tickets until midnight Wednesday 29 August. Tickets start at just $75 for this belter of an event with general public tickets on sale at 1pm local time, Friday 31st August. For the slightly more refined shredder, SHAKAFEST offers a SHAKA VIP package for $155 including side of stage viewing, private loos and bar, drink on arrival, free sunset snacks and complimentary merch.

Get stoked, raise that thumb and pinky finger to the sky. It’s SHAKA time.
