Shaun Baxter is excited to announce the leading single of his forthcoming EP, Morning Sun; a rootsy celebration of journeying and self-discovery.

In a combination of experienced storytelling, heart- warming guitars and an upbeat swagger, Morning Sun basks in the positivity of lessons learned and new beginnings. Shaun’s personal revolution has begun now that he has found his voice. A guitar student and member of ill-fated rock bands, Shaun had been developing a catalogue of guitar instrumentals that were always hinting at his infant sense of melody. It was only at the disbanding of his most recent band that he was pushed out onto the road of solo artistry and challenged to find his voice.

On finding his voice Shaun recalls “The song was originally written as a guitar instrumental yet I could hear a vocal melody… in a nutshell the song is subconsciously about my journey of voice, learning to sing and opening up my throat chakra for expression and pushing through obstacles along the way.”

Shaun worked with drummer/producer Syd Green at his studio in idyllic Jervis Bay, drawing on all their folk, country and Americana influences to develop 6 other songs alongside Morning Sun that encapsulate love, heartache, reflection and personal revolution. Morning Sun being the strongest representation of the convergence of coastal energies, roots music and feeling good about moving forward.
