Fresh off releasing their new belter, “Under The Thunder” and accompanying video, Skegss are proud to present a series of once in a lifetime shows from the iconic Brunswick Picture House, NSW. The ‘Under The Thunder Black Tie World Tour’ will take place over 4 nights between July 8th – 11th.

The shows will see the band perform for a limited capacity audience (seated and asked to arrive in formal attire), with the Friday and Saturday nights also live-streamed to international audiences via Veeps.

In some of the first concerts to be attended by live audiences post-COVID lockdown laws, fans at the shows can expect a full night of entertainment that may not happen at a Skegss show ever again – including a magician, cheese platters and limited edition merch.

Just like the Logies or Golden Globes, fans will be seated at theatre style round tables so make sure to polish your shoes, wear a tie and dress to impress! (Dress codes apply: NO SUIT, NO ENTRY).

For those that can’t make the fun in person, they will be able to stream the Friday and Saturday night shows and host their own watch parties from the comfort of their loungerooms.

Supporting Skegss will be Cronulla-based singer/songwriter Adam Newling, showcasing some of his top notch alt-country gems.

Tickets are on sale Wednesday 1st July at 9AM AEST. Sign up to the band’s mailing list at Skegss.com for your chance to secure tickets.

Premiered last week on triple j with Hobba and Hing, “Under The Thunder” (produced by Catherine Marks) was recorded at The Grove Studios, NSW and features the band’s trademark vocals and guitar lines mashed up with a 70’s throwback rhythm complimenting their beloved slacker style.

Benny explains: “This song is about enjoying the rollercoaster of life, no one can live forever so you may as well enjoy the seasons and becoming, there’s not always going to be a solution to some situations that you’re in so you have to take the good with the bad and ride it out and just enjoy a beer when you can and not think about any of the bad things in your life, nature will always have its way at the end of the day.”

The accompanying film clip directed by previous collaborator Kai Neville sees the lads break out from quarantine to take a daytrip around their property in Toby’s trademark yellow Commodore.

“We shot the whole video on 16mm film using mainly wide angle lenses. It’s our second video with Kai Neville; he also did the ‘Road Trip’ video. It’s my car.” – Toby

“Was a fun day in the backyard.” – Jonny

About SKEGSS

Formed in 2014, Skegss – which includes members Ben Reed (vocals, guitar), Toby Cregan (bass) and Jonny Lani (drums) – first hooked listeners with a series of EP’s, before releasing their riotous-yet-nostalgic sugar-rush of a debut album, My Own Mess (triple j Feature Album, #2 ARIA Chart Debut), including Hottest 100 voted single ‘Up In The Clouds’ (#11). Last year saw the band notch two entries in the iconic triple j countdown with ‘Save It For The Weekend’ (#31) and their like a version re-imagining of The Pixies anthem ‘Here Comes Your Man’ (#90).

2019 saw the band sign with US label Loma Vista Recordings (Denzel Curry, St. Vincent, Marilyn Manson) and play their biggest US shows ever, before heading back to AUS with appearances at Yours and Owls Festival and Good Things Festival. They capped off the year with a massive New Year’s Eve show with mates Ruby Fields, Pist Idiots and Cupid and The Stupids at The Northern Hotel, Byron Bay.

With gold singles, sold out tours and more than 100 million streams under their belt, 2020 is on track to see Skegss continue their rise as one of Australia’s finest rock bands.
