Slum Sociable are proud to unveil a remarkable new single, ‘Can’t Figure It Out’, ahead of their Australian tour beginning in Brisbane at the end of the month. Its release falls just four weeks after the stunning, ‘Do Something About It’, which has received widespread adoration for its minimal, pop-focused direction.

Premiered overnight on triple j’s Good Nights, with an accompanying lyric video premiered via Pilerats, ‘Can’t Figure It Out’ is Slum Sociable’s most infectious work to date and showcases another welcomed progression in song writing from the acclaimed duo. It features their renowned lo-fi beats, bright synth hooks and vocal melodies that you can envision sung in living rooms and at festivals alike.

“‘Can’t Figure It Out’ was a really fun song to make, we wrote it in the middle of a little snowstorm in New York, an equally inspirational and hazardous setting! The song itself speaks to the frustrated stagnant part of you, when you think you have an idea of how to move forward but the plan isn’t 100% there yet.” – Miller Upchurch, Slum Sociable

Slum Sociable are excited to take their brilliant new singles on the road this June and July. The run of 8-dates will visit both regional and metropolitan cities, with shows likely to sell out. Last week, Slum Sociable announced that Sydney multi-instrumentalist and recent FBi Radio Independent Artist of the Week, Milan Ring, will be joining them to bring her intricate and soulful RnB to Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne.

‘Can’t Figure It Out’ continues the evolution Slum Sociable aim to realise with each new release. Its close pairing to previous single, ‘Do Something About It’, is a result of their coinciding creation earlier this year. ‘Do Something About It’ has been praised by FBi Radio, Pilerats and Purple Sneakers, and is featuring in massive global playlists including Spotify’s Indie Pop and Apple Music’s Late Night Menu.

These tracks follow on from Slum Sociable’s ambitious self-titled debut LP, which was crowned locally as the feature album on triple j and FBi Radio. The singles, ‘Name Call’, ‘Don’t Come Back Another 100 Times’ and ‘Castle’ have collected over 4 million streams, plus love from international radio stations, BBC Radio 1, Beats 1 and KCRW. Online attention has amassed from influential tastemakers Billboard, NYLON, CLASH, Earmilkand Indie Shuffle.
