Innovative producers SLUMBERJACK have teamed with fellow Perth rising talent TWERL for the final taste of their upcoming debut album ‘DICHOTOMY’, releasing ‘Pain (feat. Josh Pan)’ on Sweat It Out. Exemplifying the experimental approach they are looking to explore throughout their debut album, ‘Pain’ converges the trademark bass-centric SLUMBERJACK sound with futuristic stylings for an offering that would aptly soundtrack the science-fiction visuals of the cyberpunk era. As the duo prepare to unleash their album on Friday 21st January 2022, ‘Pain’ sits on the darker, more sinister side of the ‘DICHOTOMY’ spectrum. An atmospheric opening and distorted topline courtesy of Josh Pan build towards a bass-infused crescendo with underlying ominous and manipulated textures, for a release that would easily find residence within one of SLUMBERJACK’s breathtaking setlists.
On the approach to ‘Pain’, SLUMBERJACK said, “We’ve always been fascinated by the aesthetics of the cyberpunk era and ‘Pain’ definitely lives in that world. It’s dark and synthetic and belongs in the back streets. It’s designed to make you feel fucking cool.”

Having collaborated previously with SLUMBERJACK for ‘Inferno’, TWERL has quickly earned recognition for his jagged rhythms and experimental bass lines. The Perth producer has grabbed the attention of some of the biggest bass artists in the game such as RL Grime, Alison Wonderland, and ShockOne, while he has released on such labels as Skrilex’s Nest HQ, Mad Decent, Soulection, and Dark Machine Records. With an array of releases that have seen him amass over 10 million streams across platforms, and official remixes for the likes of Diplo & Lil Xan, TWERL is fast becoming one of Australia’s most promising talents. TWERL’s production talents lent themselves perfectly to SLUMBERJACK’s artistry and Josh Pan’s vocal talents. Josh Pan has seen his name well and truly embedded as a go-to topline artist in the electronic scene, with tracks such as ‘Ain’t Nobody Like You’ with Yung Bae, ‘Movie’ with Habstrakt, and ‘4 Mind’ with Dog Blood, Skrillex, Boys Noize, and X&G, seeing him amass over 40 million streams across platforms. Most recently his collaboration with Dylan Brady ‘Supersonic’ was repurposed by Skrillex and Noisia, for a bass-heavy rendition that has seen acclaim from Billboard, Dancing Astronaut, EDM.com, We Rave You, DJ Times, and many more.
SLUMBERJACK have been on a tear in recent months, seeing their genre-bending production ‘Better Off (feat. Lucy Lucy)’ receive a full rotation add on triple j and support from the likes of Life Without Andy, Acid Stag, The AU Review, Amnplify, Thomas Bleach and more. As they approach their debut album, which is set to be a crowning career moment for the pair, they look to expand on their already stellar achievements. With a catalogue of releases that sees them surpass 150 million streams, whilst earning Gold certification for their self-titled 2014 EP ‘Slumberjack’ and 2017 hit single ‘Fracture (feat. Vera Blue)’, they have carved out an integral place in not only Australian dance, but the worldover. Their big room bass sound has seen them electrify at international festivals such as EDC Las Vegas, and Electric Forest and more local events such as Splendour In The Grass, and Beyond The Valley, with ‘Pain’ set to adeptly fit into those sets once they return to their live shows.
SLUMBERJACK & TWERL’s new single ‘Pain (feat. Josh Pan)’ is available now, with their debut album ‘DICHOTOMY’ available out on Friday 28th January 2022 – pre-save HERE.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
