Sony Music Entertainment Australia is excited to announce the launch of a brand new joint venture label, New Tribe Music, in conjunction with renowned writer and producer Jon Hume, and Karen Hume.
New Tribe Music is a fresh Australian label bringing authentic and innovative artists to the forefront. New Tribe Music places a strong focus on collaboration and camaraderie across a diverse and talented team, fronted by Jon Hume, who is credited with over half a billion streams on Spotify as a songwriter and producer. Having topped the charts as an artist himself with Evermore and currently spending his third week at #1 on the ARIA charts with his co-write with Dean Lewis on ‘Be Alright’, Jon Hume is in prime position to launch this exciting new label.
The first artist signed to New Tribe Music is the incredible Kira Puru, who has just announced the release of her self-titled EP, out September 20. The five track EP features the hard-hitting ‘Molotov’ which has surpassed half a million streams and the hypnotic ‘Tension’ which is nearing 1.6 million streams and demonstrates an exhilarating evolution for one of Australia’s most important voices.
