NAIDOC Week
with triple j’s 2-hour
Blak Out special
.
.
We kicked off NAIDOC Week yesterday with a special two hour edition of triple j’s new First Nations show, Blak Out. Hosted by Yuin / Thunghutti man and rapper Nooky, Blak Out’s hour-long show was doubled up for a NAIDOC Week special, featuring nothing but slaps by Indigenous artists!
Listen to it now via the triple j app or website.
The program features a huge selection of artists and genres: there’s something for everyone in Blak Out’s playlist. You’ll hear artists like Baker Boy, Trials and Thelma Plum, as well as brand new songs from up-and-comers Becca Hatch, NIDALA and YNG Martyr. There’s also classic tracks from artists like Christine Anu, Archie Roach, Shakaya and so much more! Plus, you’ll hear from Gadigal woman, actor and narrator Lille Madden, who joins Nooky to chat about Healing Country, the new documentary series about young traditional owners who are leading the way in healing country, out this week via ABC Indigenous.
All this week, we’ll be celebrating NAIDOC Week across triple j, Double J and triple j Unearthed. Here’s what else we’ve got planned…
Tonight from 8pm on triple j’s Live at the Wireless program, you’ll hear a special live performance by 2020’s Unearthed Artist of the Year JK-47. Keep your peeled eyes for the video on triple j’s socials too!
Boorloo DJ Yikes is stepping behind the decks on Friday 9 July for triple j’s Friday Mix, whilst triple j’s Saturday night dance music show Mix Up will be sound tracked by Fosters, DJ KYAANZ, Moss and Mozzi.
Tonight from 6pm on Double J, Classic Album’s host Caz Tran goes deep on the self-titled 1996 desert reggae album Blekbala Mujik. Then from 6pm Tuesday, Double J’s Live at the Wireless is on your radio featuring a live performance by Emma Donovan & The Putbacks.
triple j Unearthed will be bringing you a First Nations hip hop special on air and online, introducing 8 new hitters in the scene! Plus, you’ll hear a full 48 hours of First Nations music only on Unearthed radio next Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 of July.
Tune in to triple j, Double J and triple j Unearthed all week as we proudly celebrate the history, culture, music and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
