One of the singular voices of a generation, Arlo Parks makes her return to Australia and New Zealand this winter. This time is a victory lap, the singer / songwriter returning with two Grammy nominations under her belt, as well as a Mercury Prize and BRIT Award. Parks’ ability to soundtrack and contextualise the labyrinthine emotions associated with her generation is her calling card, navigating queerness, COVID, trauma, climate anxiety, all at their complex intersection while navigating hers as well. On her new record My Soft Machine, out on 26 May, a problem shared is a problem halved.
Despite her brief touring hiatus, Arlo is back on the road and ready to share My Soft Machine with those who understand it. A beautiful and intentional merging of soundscape and songwriting, Arlo Parks is not to be missed this July.

100 gecs’ emergence into the mainstream is a breath of fresh air, their eclectic take on pop music adequately reflective of an attention-deficit, hyperactive youth. The brainchild of forward-thinking musicians Dylan Brady and Laura Les, 100 gecs is a reaction to an era of pop that took itself too seriously. 100 gecs absorbs the sound of the internet and returns it farm-to-table into a post-Trump era mashup that seems to take from 2010s Vine compilations as much as it takes from your conventional genres.
Without preparation, a 100 gecs concert may look like a Resident Evil meets Super Mario birthday party. A vibrant sensory overload, the duo comes costumed and equipped with instruments you may not have seen to make sounds you may not have heard. After making their debut earlier this year, 100 gecs returns to Australia exclusively for Splendour in the Grass this winter as well as a headline performance in Auckland, bringing an unequivocally fun and carefree spirit that can’t help but be contagious. They represent a sea change in mainstream music, pop stars for a generation whose nonchalance feels a little more imperishable than the last. And the thing about change is that usually you’re one step behind it, but that’s ok: 100 gecs seem to be several steps ahead.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
