This year’s Mitchell Creek Rock’n’Blues Festival is in it’s seventh year and to celebrate, the organisers have enlisted the help of the mystical “Hootchie Cootchie Man” from Willie Dickson’s famous blues tune. On the seventh day of each month since February, Mitchell Creek organisers have been announcing seven acts at a time, culminating in this final artist announcement and the official poster launch on the 7th of July.

Delivering on the promise of the best and biggest festival to date, Mitchell Creek patrons are guaranteed some very sweet times ahead. With only 11 weeks to go ticket sales are booming, and with their biggest lineup to date now officially announced, the organisers still have a few surprises up their sleeve for the coming weeks, with some very cool activities and unique competitions that will run during the festival, designed to amuse both young and old festival goers… Watch this space.

Mitchell Creek Festival is held on 100 hectares of private property nestled in the lush woodlands of the Mary Valley in the Noosa Hinterlands on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland.   This year the event has the support of Queensland Tourism and Events  “Live in Queensland” branding and there is no questioning that the gorgeous location and quality entertainment is up there with the very best that Australia has to offer. Organisers speak of “The Spirit of the Place” being larger than any of the event’s headliners, a place where everyone comes together in harmony to enjoy the gift of music and community. The property, which was once used for cattle grazing, now provides ample space for camping in this once a year event, alongside the mineral rich waterways which is now revegetating to host a plethora of native plants and wildlife, and is surrounded by forestry and untouched native rainforest as well as organic farms.

The three day festival appeals to a wide cross section of community and music lovers. It is an ideal destination for campers, RVs and caravan enthusiasts with free camping offered as part of the ticket to the three day event, with option for VIPs to arrive early to set up camp in advance. It is a family friendly event, held in the first week of school holidays with a strong focus on providing a safe and fun space for kids of all ages, featuring a specific kids area with programmed activities as well as multi-cultural food stalls and a variety of market stalls.
