With their sophomore studio album Girlfriend coming out almost a year ago, alt-pop band THE DRIVER ERA recently announced their third album, Summer Mixtape, would be out everywhere on September 16th. Featuring 11 brand new tracks – including the Rolling Stone-approved dance track “Keep Moving Forward” (feat. Nikka Costa) and the nostalgic summer single “Malibu,” Summer Mixtape is currently available for pre-order on limited edition white vinyl, cassette, and CD formats. To celebrate this milestone, The Driver Era also released the “Malibu” official music video, shot and edited by director Tate Warner. The video follows Ross and Rocky on the California coast reminiscing about summer love. “‘Malibu’ is about reminiscing on experiences in the best locations,” the band stated. “It’s about getting away. It’s the spontaneous trip you take with someone — maybe you knew them before, or maybe you’re meeting them for the first time.”

Since the release of their 2021 sophomore album GIRLFRIEND, it’s lead single “Heaven Angel” and follow-up tracks “#1 Fan” and “Leave Me Feeling Confident,” the band has received support from the likes of Notion (“[GIRLFRIEND] features some of the Lynch brothers’ most ambitious (and musically advanced) sonic creations to date”), Clash (“The Driver Era’s vast alt-rock sound, with an endearing soulful groove leading the harmony, making for a truly heartfelt vocal performance”), L’Officiel (“With their upcoming album they’re pushing boundaries and their own talents”), Paper, Dork, Interview Magazine, Entertainment Tonight, and more.
