announces partnership with
SUPPORT ACT

The past two years has seen the Australian music industry suffer unimaginable loss in the wake of a global pandemic. Artists, promoters, ticketing companies, production crew, photographers, managers and booking agencies have all been forced to adapt to an industry that was halted to a standstill in 2019 with many still unable to make ends meet.

In 2020, The Grass Is Greener Festival were part of a chorus of national event organisers that suffered great financial loss when plans for their annual events were unable to proceed in Cairns and the Gold Coast. Fortunately, 2021 has shown the Sunshine State some mercy and the Cairns staple will make its triumphant return this Saturday and will see festival favourites Peking Duk, Ziggy Alberts and Jesswar take to the stage once again.

Today, The Grass is Greener is proud to announce their partnership with Support Act that will see them donate a percentage of all official merch sales from this year’s event: “The past 24 months have been a turbulent and challenging time for everyone in our industry. We were devastated when we had to make the decision to cancel last year’s events as we understood the ripple effect it would have on our community. This year we are honoured to partner with Support Act and give back to a community that continues to support us “– Oli Frost, The Grass is Greener Director

Support Act is the industry beacon that has and continues to provide much needed crisis relief services to artists, artist managers, crew and music workers. An organisation, dependent on donations from state and national government agencies and some of the country’s most influential companies, artists and brands.

“Support Act is very excited to partner with The Grass Is Greener music festival in fundraising efforts for the music industry during this current crisis. Funds raised will go towards helping artists, managers, crew and music workers in crisis in the Australian music industry” – Louise Sawilejskij, Fundraising and Marketing Associate Support Act

The exclusive merch is available via the online store now and will be available on the day from the official merch tent. Head over to The Grass Is Greener Website and grab yourself a t-shirt and help us provide much needed relief to people and families in our industry.
