As he wraps up his tour with Flight Facilities this week, The Kite String Tangle unveils a special remix pack of his current single ‘Give It Time’ ft Aalias.

Featuring a synth-driven house remix from Luke Million and a glitch pop remix from Philadelphia-based OddKidOut, the remix pack shines a new light on the Brisbane singer/producer/multi-instrumentalist’s latest gem. Lucky punters at the upcoming NYE on the Hill may get to hear these live when The Kite String Tangle performs at the festival.

The accolades have been flowing this year for The Kite String Tangle with a Queensland Music Award win, international festival performances at Primavera (Barcelona), The Great Escape (Brighton), Dot to Dot (Manchester, Bristol, Nottingham) and We Love Green (Paris), a sold out London headline show as well as headline shows in Berlin and Amsterdam. Then there was also the release of mini album The Kite String Tangle Presents: In A Desperate Moment which resulted in two sold out shows with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra in Brisbane.

Of the Luke Million remix, The Kite String Tangle says; “Luke and I had the pleasure of touring together for the Hot Dub Wine Machine festival. Ever since then I wanted to get him to do a remix for me and this track seemed like the perfect fit given how bright and fun the original is. He gave it the funkiest disco twist one could ever hope for and I can’t stop dancing to it”.

Follows Luke; “I absolutely loved the original and to take it somewhere new, I upped the tempo with a classic Oberheim Drum Machine and put it in my synth universe with plenty of Multimoog, Jupiter 4 and VP330 Vocoder.”

As for the OddKidOut remix, The Kite String Tangle says; “I really loved how creative this remix is. OddKidOut has retained the essence of the original but has really explored where it can get to when injected with some signature OKO jitters and freneticism”.

OddKidOut: “What first caught my ear on The Kite String Tangle’s ‘Give It Time’ was its ability to be both artistic and mass-appealable. It was a fun remix because the stems were ear candy, and that allowed me to really push the boundaries with what I wanted to do. Glad this one happened :)”

April’s In a Desperate Moment mini album was performed in its entirety with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra for Wave Festival and was created as an outlet for Harley’s other musical side. Although known for his electronic prowess, he has been simultaneously writing music at a piano or guitar and has been attracted to organic music with acoustic and classic instrumentation. The album was developed over countless studio hours, and also features weird and wonderful toys, tapes, and trinkets.

2017 saw the release of his debut self-titled album which reached #1 on the iTunes Electronic charts and made a Top 10 debut on the iTunes Album chart, two national headline tours, much-talked about sets at Splendour in the Grass and FOMO festivals amongst others, AUS/NZ support for US electronic duo Odesza, a support at the Brisbane Festival for London Grammar, and a co-headline slot on Red Deer Festival. All this came alongside the announcement of his own record label Exist. Recordings which put out well received releases from Brisbane producer Golden Vessel and sibling duo Lastlings.
