Kicking off with an Elefant Traks Takeover at Sydney Park Amphitheatre on Friday, January 14, King Street Carnival welcomes Inner West royalty Horrorshow to play their first show in 2021. Next up is New Zealand rap powerhouse JessB, crossing the ditch to deliver her fierce mix of hip hop, Reggaeton and dancehall. Western Sydney soul trio Planet Vegeta will round out Friday’s lineup, opening with their intense mix of passion and beautiful melodies. Nardean, with a set of warm, smooth RnB, is followed by Auckland’s very own Half Queen. Beloved Sydney/Brisbane selectors Carolina Gasolina and Dameeela will be spinning hip hop selections, keeping the vibes up. Friday’s proceedings will be hosted by Gamilaraay man and comedian, Dane Simpson, and radio favourite, Gen Fricker.

Saturday swaps heavy beats for body-moving guitars, headlined at the Sydney Amphitheatre with the Australian institution that is You Am I. Up next is the newly announced and influential indie-rock act, Ratcat, before Geelong’s fuzz-drenched, seminal band Magic Dirt and pocket rocket and former Jezabels lead singer Hayley Mary. New addition Amyl and The Sniffers and punk-rock fanatics, Private Function will both crank up the summer heat. Continuing the stellar locals list, is the fast-rising passion of Johnny Hunter, Sydney’s cult garage punk party drivers Shogun and the Sheets and a welcomed dose of neo-psychedelia courtesy of The Laurels.

Skipping over to Camperdown Park, Saturday punters will be treated to new headliners, Middle Kids, as they perform from their highly decorated catalogue of alt-indie rock. Meanwhile, Western Australia’s Stella Donnelly will take to the mainstage with her honest, beautiful songwriting and endearing charisma, as well as new Melbourne addition and vocal powerhouse of R&B, Kaiit. Adding to the heavyweights will be eternal crowd favourite Donny Benét, alongside the well-loved The Lazy Eyes and The Buoys. Sydney’s lush alt-country group, Caitlin Harnett & The Pony Boys will make a bold appearance alongside psych-funk favourites Joseph Liddy & The Skeleton Horse and exciting newcomer EJ Worland.

Heading into a festive Sunday session at Sydney Park Amphitheatre will be Australia’s renowned live acts, Confidence Man and bass don Touch Sensitive who will deliver a nostalgic mix of funk, disco and electronica grooves. New addition, Mildlife bring their vibrant jazz blends up from Melbourne, alongside Harvey Sutherland, both ready to leave the crowd swaying into the afternoon. Joining them is multi-instrumentalist Milan Ring and Sydneysider CLYPSO, who will turn it up with their self-produced beats respectively. Also heading to Sydney Park, Lazywax will be turning on the funk for an afternoon filled with non-stop dancing. Much respected soul-jazz enigma Setwun will bring deeply percussive, far-reaching, soulful, timeless and diverse sounds. While new kid on the block, Liyah Knight will also be dipping into a folk and indie set, peppered with a dash of pop.

All Our Exes Live In Texas will be bringing folk to the front, before the powerhouse vocals of Emma Donovan & The Putbacks and newly announced rock n roll swagger of Andy Golledge. Rounding out the euphoric festivities will be Maple Glider as she serves the crowd with balanced lush melodies followed by 12-piece funk collective The Regime.

Adding to the weekend’s fun are two programmed open air parties from the iconic Brick Pits in Sydney Park. Promising good times all Saturday long, iconic queer party-throwers and purveyors of larger-than-life events, Heaps Gay will have you catching a rhythm at their epic party in the park.
