Singles Chartifacts: 

#1: Olivia Rodrigo ‘Drivers License’ – For the sixth straight week, Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Drivers License’ holds #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart. Much like here in Australia, the track continues to dominate charts across the globe. It’s yet to leave the #1 spot in both the UK and US.

#3: Lil Tjay & 6lack ‘Calling My Phone’ – American rapper Lil Tjay makes his debut on the Singles Chart as a lead artist as he teams up with American singer 6lack on ‘Calling My Phone’. Lil Tjay has previously charted as the featured artist on Pop Smoke’s ‘Mood Swing’ (#5 Sept. ’20). 6lack last charted when he collaborated with Khalid and Ty Dolla Sign on ‘OTW’ (#27 Jun. ’18).

#9: Travis Scott & HVME ‘Goosebumps (Remix)’ – Moving up five places in its fifth week in the Top 50, ‘Goosebumps (Remix)’ cracks the Top Ten for the first time. It becomes the fifth Top Ten single from Travis Scott and his first since ‘The Scotts’ (#4 May ’20).

#15: P!nk & Willow Sage Hart ‘Cover Me In Sunshine’ – American star P!nk and her daughter Willow Sage Hart debut at #15 with ‘Cover Me In Sunshine’. Recorded at their home in California, the pair released the track as a Valentine’s Day gift to fans. Having charted late in 2020 with the duet with Keith Urban, ‘One Too Many’ (#6 Sept. ’20), P!nk last charted on her own with ‘Hurts 2B Human’ (#48 May ’19).

#21: Taylor Swift ‘Love Story (Taylor’s Version)’ – Debuting at #21, Taylor Swift gives us the first taste of her re-recorded back catalogue with ‘Love Story (Taylor’s Version)’. The new version of the song originally released as a single in 2008 comes from the re-recorded version of Swift’s second album, Fearless, which is set for release in April. ‘Love Story’ became the American singer-songwriter’s first #1 single in Australia when it spent two weeks in the top spot in March/April 2009.

Albums Chartifacts:

#1: The Rubens ‘0202’ – The Rubens claim their first #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart as they debut in the top spot with 0202. The fourth studio album from the Menangle, NSW band features the single ‘Live In Life’ (#21 Apr. ’20), which was nominated for the 2020 ARIA Award for Song Of The Year. The band have come close to topping the charts before, having had three Top Three albums that began with their self-titled debut (#3 Sept. ’12) and has rolled on through Hoops (#2 Aug. ’15) and Lo La Ru (#3 Jul. ’18).

The Rubens said: “We are absolutely thrilled to take out #1 on our fourth album, the first time to land the position for us. We uploaded our first track on triple j unearthed ten years ago and to be still doing what we love and connecting with fans all over the world means so much to us, especially after such a tough year for our industry as a whole. 0202 is the fourth Australian #1 album on the ARIA Charts in 2021.

#3: Dua Lipa ‘Future Nostalgia’ – Dua Lipa’s former #1 Future Nostalgia rockets back up the chart from #16 to #3. Its swift ascent comes on the back of the release of the deluxe edition of the British singer-songwriter’s second album, entitled Future Nostalgia: The Moonlight Edition. A track from The Moonlight Edition, ‘We’re Good’, has debuted at #27 on this week’s Singles Chart. Future Nostalgia spent one week at #1 in April 2020, and Dua Lipa performed at the 2019 ARIA Awards.

#7: Luca Brasi ‘Everything Is Tenuous’ – Tasmanian band Luca Brasi score a new ARIA Albums Chart peak as they debut at #7 with Everything Is Tenuous. The melodic punk act’s fifth studio album becomes their second Top Ten after previous album Stay (#10 Jul. ’18). Everything Is Tenuous has debuted on the ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart this week at #2.

#10: The Amity Affliction ‘Chasing Ghosts’ – The Amity Affliction’s Chasing Ghosts returns to the Top 50 at #10 following its reissue on vinyl. It spent one week at #1 in September 2012 and earned them a nomination for Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album at the 2013 ARIA Awards. It was the first of the Gympie band’s four #1 albums to date. Chasing Ghosts is #1 on this week’s ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart.

#11: Slowthai ‘Tyron’ – British rapper Slowthai makes his ARIA Top 50 debut as he releases his second album, Tyron. The follow-up to his 2019 debut Nothing Great About Britain includes collaborations with Skepta, James Black, A$AP Rocky and more.

#12: Sia ‘Music – Songs From And Inspired By The Motion Picture’ – ARIA Award winner Sia makes her first new appearance in the ARIA Top 50 since 2017 with Music – Songs From And Inspired By The Motion Picture. It’s the soundtrack to the film Music, which the singer-songwriter co-wrote and directed and features the single ‘Together’ (#27 Sept. ’20). Sia last charted with Everyday Is Christmas(#7 Nov. ’17). She previously topped the chart with 1000 Forms Of Fear (#1 Jul. ’14) and This Is Acting (#1 Feb. ’16).
