SZA topples Taylor

Miley Cyrus joins an elite Club

.

Aria.

Miley continues her run at #1 with Flowers, putting her in elite company, while SZA topples Taylor’s reign in this week’s ARIA Charts.

After spending six consecutive weeks at the top of the chart, Taylor Swift’s Midnights has been toppled by SZA’s SOS on the Albums Chart this week. While it’s the first time the album has hit #1 in Australia, it has spent six weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200, the last woman to do so was Adele with 30 a little over a year ago.

After achieving her first ARIA #1 single last week, Miley Cyrus continues her winning streak, putting her in a highly esteemed list of parents and children to both achieve an ARIA #1. Her country music superstar father Billy Ray Cyrus achieved a #1 back in 1992 with his cult classic Achy Breaky Heart.

The list includes Frank and Nancy Sinatra, who both had #1s; as well as John Lennon, who scored many #1s with The Beatles and as a solo artist, while son Julian Lennon reached the top of the charts with hit song Saltwater in 1992. Nat “King” Cole also had a string of #1 albums while daughter Natalie Cole took #1 in 1991 with Unforgettable With Love.
