Album Highlights: 

#1: Charli XCX ‘Crash’ – Charli XCX scores her first #1 album on the ARIA Chart, debuting in the top spot with Crash. The British pop singer-songwriter’s fifth album comes two years on from how i’m feeling now (#37 May ’20) and becomes her second Top Ten after Charli (#7 Sept. ’19). Crash includes collaborations with Christine and the Queens, Caroline Polachek and Rina Sawayama. As well as the Albums Chart, Crash also tops the ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart this week.

#2: Ed Sheeran ‘=’ – Ed Sheeran’s fifth studio album, = (#1 Nov. ’21), climbs six spots back up to #2 following the announcement of his Australian tour to be held in February/March 2023. ÷ (#1 Mar. ’17) moves from #17 to #8, while x (#1 Jun. ’14) re-enters the Top 50 at #42.

#7: Vanessa Amorosi ‘City Of Angels’ – Vanessa Amorosi makes her first ARIA Albums Chart Top 50 appearance since 2009, debuting at #7 with City Of Angels. The follow-up to 2020’s The Blacklisted Collection, City Of Angels is Amorosi’s seventh studio album. She last appeared on the chart with Hazardous (#7 Nov. ’09). This is Amorosi’s fourth Top Ten album.

#11: Juice WRLD ‘Fighting Demons’ – Fighting Demons, Juice WRLD’s second posthumous album, re-enters the chart at #11. It comes off the back of the album on vinyl and also lands it #2 in this week’s Vinyl Albums Chart.

#17: Josh Pyke ‘To Find Happiness’ – Sydney singer-songwriter Josh Pyke hits the chart at #17 with To Find Happiness. Pyke’s seventh studio album comes two years on from Rome (#8 Sept. ’20) and includes a collaboration with Gordi on the track ‘Hummingbird’. The album gives Pyke an eighth Top 50 album.

#20: ArrDee ‘Pier Pressure’ – British rapper ArrDee makes his ARIA Top 50 debut at #20 with Pier Pressure. The debut Brighton artist’s first mixtape includes the single ‘Flowers (Say My Name)’ (#49 Dec. ’21), plus a remix of Russ Millions and Tion Wayne’s ‘Body’ (#1 May ’21) featuring ArrDee.

Singles Highlights:

#1: Glass Animals ‘Heat Waves’ – ‘Heat Waves’ by Glass Animals makes it ten weeks at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart. It comes as the long-running hit claims its third week at #1 in the US. Four other tracks have spent a total of ten weeks at #1: Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You’ (#1 Dec. ’92), Sandi Thom’s ‘I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (With Flowers In My Hair)’ (#1 Sept. ’06) and LMFAO’s ‘Party Rock Anthem’ (#1 Apr. ’11) and Elton John & Dua Lipa’s ‘Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)’ (#1 Nov. ’21).

#8: Dave ‘Starlight’ – British hip hop artist Dave moves up three spots to #8 with ‘Starlight’. It becomes his first Top Ten entry on the ARIA Singles Chart. To date, the track has spent two weeks at #1 in the UK.

#29: Flume Feat. MAY-A – In its seventh week in the Top 50, Flume’s ‘Say Nothing’ jumps back up eleven spots to #29. It comes on the back of the release of a remix by French DJ/producer Tchami.

#38: Machine Gun Kelly & Bring Me The Horizon ‘Maybe’ – American pop-punk/hip hop artist Machine Gun Kelly takes out his first new Top 50 entry since 2020 with ‘Maybe’. The collaboration with British rock band Bring Me The Horizon comes from Kelly’s sixth album, Mainstream Sellout, which came out on 25 March and could feature on next week’s chart. He last charted with ‘my ex’s best friend’ (#22 Oct. ’20).

#40: Brothers & Joel Fletcher ‘Let’s Trot!’ – Drill duo Brothers team up with Melbourne DJ/producer Joel Fletcher for ‘Let’s Trot!’. It’s the first Top 50 appearance for the Western Sydney pair, who’ve been releasing a steady stream of singles since 2020. It’s Joel Fletcher’s first chart entry since ‘Loco’ (#13 Apr. ’14).
