The boy beats The Boss

Lewis Tomlinson wins the duel of debuts

.

Lewis Tomlinson, Bruce Springsteen.

Louis Tomlinson’s Faith In The Future beats out Bruce Springsteen’s Only The Strong Survive on this week’s ARIA Albums Chart, while home-grown favourites and five-time nominees at this year’s ARIA Awards, King Stingray, make a welcome return to the top 10.

The second solo album from the former One Direction member, Faith In The Future bags a #2 debut, an ARIA peak after his first album, Walls, reached #6 in 2020. The other major debut of the week, Bruce Springsteen’s 21st album Only The Strong Survive, reaches #4. The Boss has previously had five ARIA #1 albums.

With just under a week before the 2022 ARIA Awards officially kick off at the Hordern Pavilion on Gadigal land, Yolŋu indie-rockers King Stingray break into the top 10 albums at #6 with last month’s eponymous album King Stingray. The band also reach #1 on the Australian Albums Chart and is nominated for Album of the Year, Best Group, Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist, Best Rock Album and Best Cover Art at this year’s awards.

Taylor Swift continues her hold on the #1 in the Singles Chart for a fourth week with Anti-Hero, while Australian Idol judge-to-be Meghan Trainor’s Made You Look reaches a new chart peak at #7.
