Thrashville, the ‘slightly heavier’ music festival held at Dashville in the Hunter Valley, is psyched to announce the full line-up for its auspicious September 11 return.

Held in lush bushland confines, the popular one-day blast, which only just had its postponed 2020 chapter held in February this year, is back with a fresh plate of awesome emerging and established acts, ready to spark pure delight into anyone with a pension for punk, hard rock, heavy metal and everything in between.

The one-day festival will feature two stages of music from midday to midnight, with sixteen spots on the bill along with live graff artists and pro-skateboard displays.

Please welcome the current line-up for September 11:

KIM SALMON’S SMOKED SALMON + THE NEW CHRISTS + CABLE TIES + FLAMING WREKAGE + EZEKIEL OX & THE EVIDENCE + BLACK RHENO + THE NEPTUNE POWER FEDERATION + RICK DANGEROUS & THE SILKIE BANTAMS + GOATZILLA + DARK ORDER + MOUNTAIN WIZARD DEATH CULT + THE GROUNDS + THE OWEN GUNS + LOVER LAMP + DORIS + RAGDOLL

Previously announced,

Earlier in June the festival announced a teaser with the ‘first furious five’ featuring one of Australia’s most respected vocalists, Rob Younger with his band THE NEW CHRISTS, Melbourne post-punk trio CABLE TIES, Sydney’s death metal FLAMING WREKAGE, South Coast hardcore punkers THE OWEN GUNS and thrustcore innovators RICK DANGEROUS & THE SILKIE BANTAMS.

And today the line-up grows to include,

Another Australian legend with garage grunge-rock royalty KIM SALMON’S SMOKED SALMON, multidimensional-politically-charged powerhouse EZEKIEL OX & THE EVIDENCE, Sydney’s genre bending heavy groove exponents BLACK RHENO, the devout all-consuming punk, stoner, metal experience THE NEPTUNE POWER FEDERATION, Brisbane’s heavy rock monster GOATZILLA, proud thrash metal assailants DARK ORDER, the funky sludge/ doom that is MOUNTAIN WIZARD DEATH CULT, bone rattling punk rockers THE GROUNDS, the sinfully cheeky tongue-in-something spectacle LOVER LAMP and local all-girl punk chicks RAGDOLL.

Since its inception in 2017 Thrashville has fast become a key pilgrimage for the heavy music community. The one-of-a-kind regional all-inclusive heavy music festival has had an overwhelming response via the website, receiving a mountain of applications from punk, metal, rock performers across Australia eager to perform.  As such organisers are still toying with the idea of adding an additional third stage, focused specifically on the local scene.

THE NEW CHRISTS

THE NEW CHRISTS

Rob Younger formed what was to become The New Christs in the early 1980’s after the demise of Radio Birdman, primarily to support Iggy Pop’s Australian tour of 1983. The band have appeared spasmodically in Australia, and with greater success in Europe ever since. Line-ups of The New Christs have included members of Hoodoo Gurus, Celibate Rifles, Radio Birdman, Barracudas and Lime Spiders to name but a few. LP’s released by The New Christs include the classic ‘Distemper’, which reached number 1 on the Australian alternative charts in 1989, ‘Lower Yourself’, ‘We Got This’ and ‘Gloria’, as well as ‘Incantations’ their last studio effort from 2014. Songs such as ‘Born Out of Time’ ‘Like a Curse’ and ‘Heading South’ are etched firmly into the Australian underground rock music psyche. The unmistakable voice, delivery and presence of Rob Younger and his band remains a consistent draw card for lovers of Australian rock music to this day. The current New Christs line up consists of Jim Dickson (Radio Birdman, Barracudas) – Bass, Paul Larsen (Celibate Rifles, Screaming Tribesman) – Drums, Brent Williams – Guitar and Keyboards, Dave Kettley (Radio Birdman) – Guitar, and Rob Younger. These guys were voted in premiere Spanish Rock magazine ‘Ruta 66’ as “best concert of the year!” and have toured Europe extensively playing to adoring fans. The New Christs remain one of Australia’s best bands and Thrashville is stoked to have them on board.

CABLE TIES

CABLE TIES

Cable Ties take the three-minute punk burner and stretch it past breaking point to deliver smouldering feminist anthems. Post-punk and garage rock hammered together by a relentless rhythmic pulse. Three friends summoning a tide to deliver anthems that turn latent anxieties into a rallying cry. Their second album, Far Enough, was released in 2020 by Poison City in Aus/NZ and Merge Records for the rest of the world.

FLAMING WREKAGE

FLAMING WREKAGE

Flaming Wrekage has left a growing impression on Australian metal since day one, proving themselves as a premier thrash/death metal act with every release. Two full-length studio albums and relentless touring has brought a devoted fan base from all over. Their take-no-prisoners attitude and fierce live shows have enthralled audiences throughout Europe, Indonesia and Australia. They’re no strangers to sharing stages with metal royalty, having opened for Soilwork (SWE), Power Trip (USA), Omnium Gatherum (Fin), and Psycroptic.

RICK DANGEROUS & THE SILKIE BANTAMS

RICK DANGEROUS

Pioneers at the forefront of the Thrustcore revolution, Rick Dangerous & the Silkie Bantams emerged from the seedy slums of southern Sydney in the wee hours of 2013. Armed with little more than his original teeth, a twinkle in his eye and a hole in his back, Rick has assembled his feathered friends, Oscar de la Talon (guitar), Sir Gregory Peck (bass) and Feather Locklear (drums) to inappropriately suckle at the teat of the Australian music scene. RD’s sound has been described as sexy, repulsive, abusive, and at best, obnoxious with their debut self-titled 2014 EP garnering some serious underground buzz. The lead single The General was an instant fan favourite with its ‘Grip, Squeeze, Twist, Release’ mantra sending mosh-pits into a frenzy. This was followed up in 2016 with the sophomore EP Thrust Machine which spawned the singles ‘Bruja’ and ‘Powdered Sugar’, seeing the band embark on their most audacious headline tours to date.

.

THE OWEN GUNS

THE OWEN GUNS

The Owen Guns are a hardcore punk band rolling between Sydney and the South coast. Built from veterans of the live punk and hardcore music scene. Unlike most of the current crop of punk bands, there are no fake American accents or fear of offending people here. They don’t take themselves (or anyone else) too seriously, and aren’t afraid to call it how they see it.
