triple j’s Unearthed High is back for 2021

So, if you’re a high school student making music, listen up! You could win flights to Sydney to record, remix and master your next big hit at triple j’s studios.

All you’ve gotta do is this:

1. Upload your song/s to your triple j Unearthed profile by Sunday 25 July at midnight (AEST).

2. Tick the box that says you’re an Unearthed High artist (this is very important!)

3. Cross your fingers!

Now in its 14th year, triple j’s Unearthed High competition has uncovered some of Australia’s heaviest hitters and exciting up-and-coming artists including The Kid Laroi, Genesis Owusu, Gretta Ray, Hockey Dad, KIAN and many more.

Adelaide duo Teenage Joans won the competition in 2020, and soon after went on to land a spot in triple j’s Hottest 100 with their song ‘Three Leaf Clover’.

Words of advice for any artists thinking about entering?

“Just do it”, the reigning champs Teenage Joans say. “It’s such a cool competition because you learn so much from the experience and get to meet a whole heap of new friends. Through our experience we learnt so much about the Australian music scene.”

Plus, you’ll also receive professional industry advice from a senior music manager and a one-on-one mentoring session with one of your favourite artists!

In addition to the major prize, the Unearthed High Indigenous Initiative gives First Nations entrants the chance to win ongoing mentorship from the Association of Artist Managers (AAM), as well as a song writing workshop at their school by the APRA AMCOS Songmakers program.
