RUMOURS

UNIFY Forever is stoked to announce that Sydney based post-hardcore band STORIES will reform to play an exclusive one-off reunion on the UNIFY mainstage this January! Formed in 2011 and known for punchy analog textures, dynamic vocals and punk rooted energy, Stories went on to release their much-loved debut album ‘The Youth To Become’ in 2015.

“The headstrong, unique effort indicated a band with the world at their feet” Mike Hohnen, Music Feeds

High profile supports for the likes of Architects, Misery Signals, In Hearts Wake and Polaris followed, plus a sold-out headline tour, before they announced an indefinite hiatus in 2016. They played the first ever UNIFY Gathering in 2015 and now the mosh is calling them home. UNIFY Forever 2022 will mark the band’s first show in over five years and we’re ready for it!

AM//PM x UNIFY THURSDAY NIGHT PRE-PARTY

Early Access Pass holders arriving at UNIFY Forever on Thursday 20 January are in for a big first night, with a cracking lineup announced to get the festival started.

AM//PM is Australia’s biggest touring Emo Night. Combining the best local + international bands & guest DJ’s with AMPM DJ’s playing all the best Emo, Pop-Punk and Heavy singalongs ’til your voice is gone and you’re hanging for the next party.

Get ready to party on Thursday night with (in alphabetical order)…

Adelaide band ALT. emerged in late 2019 and dropped their much-anticipated debut EP ‘dysfunctional’ in April 2020. They’ve since clocked over a million streams, featured on Spotify Editorial Playlist ‘Rock Out’ as the front cover and even managed to slip some live shows in between lockdowns.  With new music on the horizon there are no signs of Alt. slowing down any time soon.

Melbourne five piece DREGG make powerfully energetic music, with a sound that hungrily consumes metal, hardcore, and rap, only to heave it back up in a colorful rainbow of absurdity, lovingly fed to the audience like mother birds.  DREGG are thrillingly provocative, occasionally disturbing, and filled with hip-hop swagger. Imagine Eminem, fronting Mr. Bungle, while sipping absinthe, after an Oscar Wilde binge. Or Hatebreed, covering the Wu-Tang Clan, inside an art installation, curated by Andy Warhol’s ghost.

DROWN THIS CITY boldy tackle conversations concerning mental health, trauma and healing wounds on their 2021 EP Colours We Won’t Know. Fuelled by references to metalcore, hardcore and other heavy sub-genres, this latest release finds the band at their absolute heaviest, offering dynamic instrumentation among stark lyrical imagery and elevated clean/unclean vocal delivery.

Sydney-based alt-rock outfit GRENADE JUMPER bring dynamic pop-rooted energy in a storm of thrashing guitar and vocals. Since their inception, the four-piece have shared the stage with international heavy weights Deaf Havana (UK), as well as a slew of local legends such as Between You & Me, Hellions and Eat Your Heart Out.  The band has also received airtime on triple j’s Home & Hosed, triple j Unearthed and praise from Australian Guitar Magazine, Music Feeds, Pilerats, Women in Pop and more.

With national radio time on the J’s and some hot press in the likes of Alt press and Music Feeds RUMOURS are on the rise. Their most recent EP ‘If Only You Could Feel Something Too’ touches on the inner turbulence you find when you love what could be harmful or, inversely, doubt what could be great. How do you communicate those more extreme feelings with those around you? Wouldn’t it just be easier if they could feel something too? Explore these questions with RUMOURS as they take to the stage at UNIFY Forever 2022.

UNIFY can’t wait to welcome these six exciting bands to the rolling fields of Tarwin Meadows in January. Tickets to Australia’s heavy music wonderland are available via Ticketmaster now with Afterpay, PayPal & Visa Checkout available.

Now, it’s time to get the advent calendar at the ready, cause before you know it, the most ultimate heavy music Christmas of all time will be well and truly underway!
