Brisbane/Meanjin duo WIIGZ return with their blazing new single ‘French Tips’ and news their debut EP is on its way.
‘French Tips’ is a grand return for Hannah Brydon and Zoë Hilditch delivering an electronic dance pop banger with a whole lot of attitude. Out today, ’French Tips’ is the first taste of their debut EP.
“We are so hyped for you guys to hear our new single ‘French Tips’. From playing lots of live shows and growing as artists, we’ve got so much new shit to give to you all. Buckle up because we’re going to take you to a new WIIGZ universe.”
For the accompanying official video, WIIGZ at the wheel of the creative vision, chose the extremely talented team of director Charles Buxton-Leslie and cinematographer Brianna Da Silva to create a clip that oozes attitude and hot girl main character energy.
Driven by a storyline created by WIIGZ, the duo share, “we are known for running around, being wild and chaotic, so we wanted to show this in the music video. The concept is tongue n cheek, it’s silly but it even gets a little gruesome at the end. That’s WIIGZ it feels like, taking things a little less serious, silly, fuck you pay us, spotlight in the room pop-star energy. Lol. Come join the party.”
Armed with a flair and finesse, WIIGZ have been on a constant rise since 2021 receiving praise for their previously released singles, ’Red Hot Pants’, ’Bitch Shit’, ’Look Good Feel Good’ and their debut single ’WWWWWHY’.
With their debut EP release slated for later this year, WIIGZ’s music has garnered support from playlisting on Spotify Fresh Finds, Hot Girl Shit, The Local List and New Music Friday, plus support from 4ZZZ and FBi Radio.
Alongside their music, with a background in film, fashion, graphic-design, photography, and creative direction – the front women incorporate a ‘hive-mind’ approach to the WIIGZ project allowing them to put their everything into it. Known for bumping in disco floors, LED lighting and dancers, the duo have already shared the stage with the likes of Sofi Tukker, Wolf Alice & Client Liaison and will be bring their inescapable live show to the Yours & Owls Festival (Wollongong) and Spilt Milk (Gold Coast) festivals.
