Delta Goodrem has thrilled audiences in Brisbane as she kicked off her BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED DREAMS TOUR on Saturday night. In the opening show of a massive 10 date national arena tour, and the first concert at Brisbane Entertainment Centre in more than 2 years, Delta had audiences on their feet and dancing from the very start, taking fans through a setlist of smash hits and catalogue favourites from one of the country’s finest live performers.

Delta had promised a night filled with fun, joy, light and laughter, and she gave all that and more in a powerful, hit-laden set that was testament to her commitment to delivering the ultimate live experience for fans. Songs such as The Power, Predictable, In This Life, Solid Gold and Keep Climbing were electrifying, whilst stunning ballads like Dear Life, Out Of The Blue, Lost Without You and Born To Try made for a magical contrast.

Special guests and much-loved locals Sheppard set the scene, starting off the night with hits such as Geronimo, Coming Home and Let Me Down Easy, in a live show that has taken them right across the globe, showcasing an amazing stage presence, live vocals and trademark high energy. George Sheppard then joined Delta on stage during her set for a breathtaking version of her song, Almost Here.

During the concert, both Delta and Sheppard lent their support to Australia Unites: Red Cross Flood Appeal, crossing for a chat with the hosts and each contributing live songs Dear Life and Crash respectively from the stage in Brisbane to the national TV special, broadcast on networks 7, 9 and 10.

Fans travelled from far and wide to Brisbane to see Delta star in the first concert of her BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED DREAMS TOUR, including fans hailing from Manchester, UK and the US. The show was met with widespread praise, fans taking to social media in droves to share their excitement. Critics were equally effusive: “Delta Goodrem’s Bridge Over Troubled Dreams Tour brims with wide screen ambition … the show runs at over two hours and is stacked with Delta’s hits, album tracks, costume changes and a few choice covers. With a choir, big band, and high-end visuals – this is a pop tour not to be missed.” – Sean Sennett, Time Off (Brisbane)

“With an absence of arena shows over the past two years, Delta Goodrem didn’t hold back in giving every pop fan exactly what they’ve missed on the opening night of her Bridge Over Troubled Dreams Tour in Brisbane. With a setlist full of greatest hits, a big extravagant stage set-up, costume changes, a gospel army of backing vocalists, an electrifying live band, intimate and humorous crowd interaction, and a powerhouse voice that continues to impress; this wholesome show truly had it all.” – Thomas Bleach, thomasbleach.com

Next stop on the tour is Gold Coast this evening, followed by Canberra, Wollongong, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Townsville and Newcastle, before concluding at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena.

$1+ GST from every ticket purchased to the BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED DREAMS TOUR will be donated to the Delta Goodrem Foundation.
