Singles Highlights: 

#1: Ed Sheeran ‘Bad Habits’ – British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran takes out his sixth chart-topping single in Australia as he debuts at #1 with ‘Bad Habits’. The track is the first release from Sheeran’s forthcoming fifth album, the follow-up to No.6 Collaborations Project (#1 Jul. ’19). Sheeran last charted with the standalone single ‘Afterglow’ (#7 Jan. ’21). He’s previously topped the Singles Chart with ‘Sing’ (#1 May ‘14), ‘Thinking Out Loud’ (#1 Oct. ‘14), ‘Shape of You’ (#1 Jan. ‘17), ‘Perfect’ (#1 Dec. ‘17) and ‘I Don’t Care’ (#1 May ‘19).

#6: Maneskin ‘Beggin’ – A week on from debuting at #22, Italian band Maneskin jump up 16 spots to hit #6 with ‘Beggin’. The cover of the The Four Seasons’ 1967 classic has also been a Top Ten in the UK and across Europe. The 2021 Eurovision Song Contest winners also debut at #21 this week with ‘I Wanna Be Your Slave’.

#11: Doja Cat & The Weeknd ‘You Right’ – As Doja Cat’s Planet Her album debuts at #3, the American artist grabs two debuts in this week’s Top 50: ‘You Right’ (#11) and ‘I Don’t Do Drugs’ (#43). The higher of the two tracks is a collaboration with Canadian star The Weeknd and serves as the second official single from the album. Previous release ‘Need To Know’ has climbed back to #32, one spot below its peak.

#22: Tyler, The Creator ‘WusYaName’ – Debuting at #2 on this week’s Albums Chart with Call Me If You Get Lost, American rapper Tyler, The Creator scores three entries in the Singles Chart Top 50: ‘WusYaName’ (#22), ‘Lumberjack’ (#40) and ‘Juggernaut’ (#49). ‘WusYaName’ features appearances by YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Ty Dolla Sign.

#48: Tones And I ‘Cloudy Day’ – With her debut album, Welcome to the Madhouse, set for release on 16 July, Tones And I takes out another charting single from it with ‘Cloudy Day’. It’s the second single from the album to hit the Top 50 after ‘Fly Away’ (#4 Feb. ’21). It’s the ARIA Award-winning singer-songwriter’s seventh Top 50 entry.

Albums Highlights:

#1: Olivia Rodrigo ‘SOUR’ – She may have lost the #1 single but Olivia Rodrigo maintains her grip on the top spot of the ARIA Albums Chart for a sixth straight week with SOUR. After five weeks at #1, ‘Good 4 U’ moves back to #2 on this week’s Singles Chart.

#2: Tyler, The Creator ‘Call Me If You Get Lost’ – Tyler, The Creator takes out a new ARIA Albums Chart peak as he debuts at #2 with Call Me If You Get Lost. The American rapper’s sixth solo album is the follow-up to Igor (#3 May ’19) and features a host of collaborators including Pharrell Williams, Ty Dolla Sign, Lil Wayne and Lil Uzi Vert.

#3: Doja Cat ‘Planet Her’ – Debuting at #3 with Planet Her, American hip hop/R&B artist Doja Cat scores her first Top Ten entry. Her third album comes after Hot Pink (#19 Mar. ’20), which this week sits at #46 and has spent a total of 44 weeks in the Top 50. Planet Her features the Top Ten single ‘Kiss Me More’ (#2 May ’21), plus guest appearances from Ariana Grande, SZA and The Weeknd, among others.

#4: Hiatus Kaiyote ‘Mood Valiant’ – Melbourne future soul outfit Hiatus Kaiyote return with their first album in six years, Mood Valiant, debuting at #4. The group’s third album becomes their first ever Top Ten entry. Previous album Choose Your Weapon (#22 May ’15) gave them their first chart entry and their first ARIA Awards nomination, receiving a nod for Best Urban Album in 2015. Between albums, members of the group pursued solo projects and lead singer Nai Palm battled cancer.

#5: The Veronicas ‘Human’ – The Veronicas make their second appearance in the Top Ten in as many months as they debut at #5 with Human. The Brisbane duo’s fifth album is the follow-up to Godzilla (#7 Jun. ’21) and includes the single ‘On Your Side’ (#19 Nov. ’16). Adelaide rapper Allday makes an appearance on the single ‘Life Of The Party’. The Veronicas have appeared in the ARIA Top Ten with all of their studio albums.

#6: The Murlocs ‘Bittersweet Demons’ – Melbourne garage rock band The Murlocs hit the ARIA Top Ten for the first time as they debut at #6 with fifth album Bittersweet Demons. The band’s previous two albums both charted in the Top 20: Old Locomotive (#15 Aug. ’17) and Manic Candid Episode (#16 Apr. ’19). Bittersweet Demons is this week’s #1 on the ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart.
