Known for his coastal folk sonic goodness, touring prestige and a laid back approach to life in his van, the name Jack Botts is rapidly cementing itself on the Australian conscious. The 23 year-old singer-songwriter released his third EP ‘Slow Mornings’ in June to industry and fan acclaim, and today, is returning with a live album offering. It comes shortly after the announce of his 2022 ‘Slow Mornings’ Australian Tour earlier this week, with tickets on sale from 12pm AEDT today via jackbotts.com.

‘Live At Miami Marketta’ spans 6 tracks recorded live from the Gold Coast’s Miami Marketta – a personal favourite venue of Brisbane-native Botts. Sandwiched in the middle of the fan-favourite-filled track listing is a never-before-released track called ‘Ooh La La’.

On the concept of the live album, Botts shares: “I love touring, I love playing live, and more so, I love playing on stage with my mates. We’ve been playing together for a few years now, busking on the streets and on stages here and there when our tours lined up. So when we finally did a big tour together, I really wanted to bring some of the live experience to life. It’s basically just a super fun jam session with all your mates. Miami Marketta has been very supportive of us and our music for a while, so it only felt fitting to record this live at a sold out show on the Gold Coast.”

“Amongst the setlist, I had a song called ‘Ooh La La’, which I wrote years ago, way before I even thought about making music a career haha. It’s a bit more of a bluesy, edgy number, which kind of reflects on the music I grew up listening to. I like that stuff! I think its super raw and gutsy track, so I never really knew when I would record or release it to add to my catalogue of music, but here we are. I really have to acknowledge the boys, Feli, Dusty and Benny for their musicianship and feel on, not only ‘Ooh La La’, but on a lot of these live tracks. I never really thought about how this track would sound in a studio environment, but these guys have really helped shape the feel of this song.”

Continuing in the live vein, Botts also recently announced his debut international tour, with a 22-stop run across Europe and the UK set to kick off in March next year. Summer 2022 now finds Botts playing NYE On The Hill, taking to the stage alongside names such as Hockey Dad, Baker Boy, Art Vs Science, Alice Ivy & more, as well as completing his ‘Slow Mornings Australian Tour’ throughout January and February before heading to Europe.
