Album Highlights: 

#1: Olivia Rodrigo ‘SOUR’ – After twelve weeks out of the top spot, Olivia Rodrigo’s debut album SOUR returns to #1 on the ARIA Charts for an eighth week. Since its release in May of this year, the album has spent all 21 of its weeks on the chart in the Top Ten, dipping only as low as #4.

#4: The Hard-Ons ‘I’m Sorry Sir, That Riff’s Been Taken’ – Sydney punk legends The Hard-Ons score their first ever entry in the ARIA Top Ten at #4 with I’m Sorry Sir, That Riff’s Been Taken. The band’s 13th studio album is their first album to feature You Am I’s Tim Rogers as vocalist. Rogers and You Am I had a Top Ten earlier in the year with The Lives Of Others (#2 May ’21). Previously the highest-charting Hard-Ons album was the compilation A Decade Of Rock (#68 Feb. ’94). I’m Sorry Sir, That Riff’s Been Taken tops this week’s ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart.

#9: Trivium ‘In The Court Of The Dragon’ – Trivium take out their seventh Top Ten album on the ARIA Albums Chart with In The Court Of The Dragon. The American metal band’s tenth album comes just over a year on from What The Dead Men Say (#5 May ’20). Their highest peak of their career was reached with both Shogun (#4 Oct. ’08) and The Sin And The Sentence (#4 Oct. ’17).

#15: Shihad ‘Old Gods’ – Returning with Old Gods, their first album in seven years, New Zealand rockers Shihad debut at #15. It’s the band’s tenth studio release and follow on from FVEY (#9 Aug. ’14), which was their second Top Ten locally. Old Gods has debuted at #4 on this week’s ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart.

Singles Highlights:

#1: The Kid Laroi & Justin Bieber ‘Stay’ – ‘Stay’ by The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber holds #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart for a 14th consecutive week. The track now sits outright third in the list of longest runs at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart (July 1983-present) behind Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape Of You’ (15 weeks) and Tones and I’s ‘Dance Monkey’ (25 weeks).

#4: Ed Sheeran ‘Shivers’ – In its fifth week in the ARIA Top 50, Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shivers’ moves up one spot to hit a new peak at #4. It comes two weeks before the release of the single’s parent album, = on 29 October.

#13: The Anxiety ‘Meet Me At Our Spot’ – American duo The Anxiety take out a new peak at #13 with ‘Meet Me At Our Spot’. The track, which is also known as the ‘caught a vibe’ song from Tik Tok, was first released by the pair in March 2020.

#22: Shouse ‘Love Tonight’ – Nine weeks into its run in the ARIA Top 50, ‘Love Tonight’ by Melbourne electronic duo has jumped eleven spots to score a new peak at #22. It’s the same peak the single has so far reached in the UK.

#28: Justin Bieber ‘Ghost’ – Justin Bieber picks up this week’s highest debut at #28 with ‘Ghost’. The track is the tenth to chart from the Canadian star’s album Justice (#1 Mar. ’21) after ‘Holy’ (#4 Sept. ’20), ‘Lonely’ (#11 Nov. ’20), ‘Anyone’ (#5 Jan. ’20), ‘Hold On’ (#6 Mar. ’21) ‘As I Am’ (#23 Mar. ’21), ‘Off My Face’ (#42 Mar. ’21), ‘Unstable’ (#22 Mar. ’21), ‘2 Much’ (#40 Mar. ’21) and ‘Peaches’ (#1 Apr. ’21).
